"Looking south down Constitution Mall toward the Trylon and Perisphere, gleaming in the morning sun. Image from mcny.org"

Photo of the Trylon and Perisphere from the side, with the Trylon on the left. There appears to be a road in the foreground and a collection of 5 statues depicting human figures, maybe 20 feet tall, in the midground. The Trylon and Perisphere are in the distance. A line of trees separates them, but it does not join at the middle, suggesting some sort of boulevard connects the statues and Perisphere. The statues are arranged to face each other, with two on the left, two on the right, and one in the center. The shot is composed such that the head of the center statue is perfectly aligned to the center of the Perisphere in the distance.

There is a human at the edge of the frame in the left foreground, on the side of the road near the camera, facing away. He's wearing a black suit and a top hat.

The photo is film (naturally) with rounded edges and a noticeable blue tint. The road appears purple and the sky blue. The statues, Trylon, and Perisphere are white. The image as a whole takes on a gradient of purple to white to blue. It's very beautiful."Seen in the background is the ticket booth and entrance to the Theme Center. Samuel H. Gottscho photograph from the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection."

A photo of the Trylon and Perisphere up close, with the Trylon on the left. The Trylon extends upwards out of frame. The top of the Perisphere is fully visible, but its right half also extends out of frame. In the air, maybe 20-30 feet up, a bridge connects them.

A ticket booth is visible on the left, built into the base of the Trylon. There is a dense line of people walking across the bridge from the Trylon into the Perisphere. In the foreground is a paved pavilion where a number of people are walking, dressed in (presumably) late 1930s attire. There are two trees in the foreground. The photo is grayscale, and the Trylon and Perisphere are white."The Trylon and Perisphere looming over the transportation zone. In the foreground is the North Corona entrance gate. George B. Bader photograph from the collection of mcny.org"

A photo of an entrance to the World's Fair, with the Trylon and Perisphere visible in the distance. In the foreground is a road, and in the midground is the entrance gate. Parked to the left of the gate is a yellow 1930s style car, and to the right a double-decker bus, with its first level painted green and its second off-white.

The entrance consists of a covered gate with two large art deco pillars, 30-40 feet tall. The pillars are shaped as right triangles, with the flat sides facing out and the tops rounded. There are four flag poles in the foreground, 20-30 feet tall. On the left is an American flag, but I don't recognize the other three.

The photo is film, with rounded edges and a noticeable blue tint. The road appears purple and the sky blue. The art deco pillars are white with red accents, and the thin roof of the entrance is red. In the distance, the Trylon and Perisphere are white."Two fashion models look down at Democracity from the upper platform. Image from Vogue Magazine, May 1, 1939."

A photo from inside the Perisphere, showing two women peering over a banister at a large model of a futuristic city. The women are silhouetted against the city and their faces are not visible. The woman on the left is either crouching or considerably shorter than her companion, as she is barely able to peer over the banister. The woman on the right is tall.

The women are wearing long dresses (or possibly skirts) with long sleeves. The woman on the left appears to be wearing white gloves and has an enormous bracelet on her left wrist. Both women are wearing hats: on the left a flat wide-brimmed hat, and on the right a pointy hat. Frankly, the silhouette of the woman on the right looks eerily similar to that of the Wicked Witch of the West. The Wizard of Oz would premiere 3 months after this photo was published.

The city is laid out radially as a semicircle, with a particularly tall skyscraper at its center. Boulevards lead out from the center to the countryside, with one particularly large boulevard flanked by smaller skyscrapers. A river with docks lays against the flat part of the semicircle.

The photo is grayscale.
