UK based, left, anti-EU but 100% anti-reform. Space Karen's Hellsite, anti-vaxxers and other low IQ morons are slowly making me think Stalin had the right idea. Save me Bluesky. You are my only hope.

Russian attempts at influence can be seen across multiple elections including EU ones! There has to be an acceptance from pro EU factions that there has been for decades a eurosceptic lobby which only grew as more integration was done without referendum. This includes the left before pre-Blair.

Awful take and precisely how we ended up so heavily integrated into the EU despite no consistent high level of EU support or interest. Hence the BNP winning EU seats. Transfer of powers should only be allowed via referendum. We really need a written constitution outlining this.

We are not going to clean up Trumps mess, we don't have the capability, we are not going to engage in a conflict when the edge of Europe is under threat, we are not going to war with an unstable Trump as an ally. The strait is not going to reopen soon. Labour need to be honest.

Gee whizz Orange Grandad... if the Ukraine/Russia conflict was driving the worlds diesel prices up then why did you go and start a conflict Iran which makes the prices increase more. Trump is on damage control. Please America, deal with him one way or another after Midterms! Thanks !

My parents are in their late 70s and 100% acknowledge climate change is real. My dad even got an EV despite being out his comfort zone. Age might seem the issue here but its poor education and selfishness. Traits reform cultivates.

Older people with money really do need credit cards. Pay them off every month. The payment protection is worth it. It took ages to get my parents to accept this reality.

It is very lovely he likes be vocal about his views. He now needs to work on how others can hold opposing views and the concept of democracy. Bonus if he waffles on about "freedom of speech".

I am very happy Iceland have had a direct vote BEFORE over being integrated without a direct vote. Direct oversight by the people is the correct path to EU membership. The EU would be a happier union, if member states could pick and choose a comfortable relationship. One size does not fit all.

Having worked in a small charity struggling to be GDPR compliant, I can state having everything you need to enable action is not the same as having the resourcing to implement the action. Giving someone a list of what they should do is not the same as doing it.

GDPR is near impossible for a small business to closely follow and is better suited for large corporations. The EU made a mistake applying it to all and would have been better providing small business with practical guidance and IT security skills. GDPR is certainly red tape in this context.

Living in Manchester the answer is yes. For example those lovely new buses? All paid by the taxpayer, used to bail out failed bus companies in a fake public ownership system, where the state gets the flak for bad service and the private sector gets the profit. I need structural change not vibes.

This platform is hardly a echo chamber, there is lots of counter points, sometimes polite, sometimes not so much. What there is not is the seemingly endless fake libertarian, far right, musk fetishists. Most important the main feed here is not outrage ramped to 100%.

Perhaps rather than get heated about one aspect, we can refocus on the reality that regardless of shareholder compensation, there is post-nationalisation, a tangible cost for investing in the water network and getting it to a climate change resilient standard.

garrdthennson.bsky.social @garrdthennson.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
I think nationalisation will happen. The service will become nonviable. Chaos capitalists extracted all the profit and under-invested. The average taxpayer is however going to be lumbered with the cost of fixing all of the mess. We need to outlaw selling off essential services to private hands.

I am unsure something like polio that caused many child deaths was somehow more contagious for those who were less intelligent or risk takers. The issue is intellectual poverty created by a lack of access to quality education. Poverty is not just material conditions.

I suspect the framing of the message was more towards what we can do than the reality we are running out of capacity to deal promptly with these fires and there is no near end in sight. This feature can also be opted out of and should be on "hidden" phones.

Pretend the guy has reformed. It is still a high risk action for the Tories to choose him as a candidate. Has the party shrunk so much there is no one else suitable. Personally, I think its a little wink to Rupert's lads there is a home in the Tory party for them. More evidence the Tories are toast.

I love the MSM sane washing of Trump! He is a convicted felon, a known liar, fiddler of all things, he talks to dead presidents, he takes bribes and changes direction, he manipulates the market. The cycle will continue till Trump is gone. Stop reporting like Trump is a normal functioning person.

Since no party got over 50% second "choice" voting was activated. I feel unless there is a lot of reform/restore types who vote Labour second, then it is safe to say Green voters pushed Labour into second round voting. Its odd SV can be used to vote and chastise a party!
001
garrdthennson.bsky.social @garrdthennson.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
He can appoint all the people he likes. Doesn't matter. Blair had a broader church in the party and was awful. The next test is deciding on gas/oil extraction. Andy is dragging his feet. I suspect he is going to drill and does not want to announce it while things are burning. Vibes Prime Minster.

Predictions and the actual outcome are not the same. There was a possibility - if not improbable. Coupled with rising levels polling uncertainty. If we assume Greens voters more likely to vote Labour second then it was the greens which pushed Labour into the second round. There is an impact there.

garrdthennson.bsky.social @garrdthennson.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
It is not unreasonable. The surge in voting green, the SV system and the previous Green win in Manchester. Naturally under fickle politics this trend didn't continue, its a risky business predicting outcomes in such changeable times. (Unless you refer here to people voting like they are betting)

garrdthennson.bsky.social @garrdthennson.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
The green campaign was a bit crass (and without going looking for it very absent where I live). However, there was some polls showing the slight possibility of a Green/Reform standoff with SV. Sadly this is an attempt to get punter voters some of whom vote like they are betting on the horses.

Interesting Burnham wants to give more power to regional mayors when turnouts are very often quite low. He may want to rethink that policy unless we can get more people engaged with voting.

Daniel! You asked for LGBT views. Denied then asking for the views, then disregarded their views regarding the classification of Reform. Yet at the same time you've not said if you would suffer under REFORM Greater Manchester Mayor either in terms of identity or geography. Its bad form, Daniel!
