After inspecting the contraption, running it without the top filter looks like a worse idea than I initially thought. But I have a buncha tiny paper filters so im going to put 2 of them over the top of the grounds and pray this doesnt start a fire.

So I went to their website where they DO sell replacement parts! Id still have to get an entire filter, but thats better than a whole machine. And the filter is only $10, reasonable. But the shipping is also $10 & I cant bring myself to pay shipping that costs as much as the item im ordering.

Taffy Yaps @garourex.bsky.social · 1h

I might also contact the vendor to see if they sell replacement parts or if theyll try to make me buy a whole new machine.

I can either: 1) Try using it without the top filter piece & pray that coffee grounds dont end up in the brew or burn out the pump. 2) Dont use the pump at all and just let it steep over night in the fridge. Yeah I bought it to have cold brew in 30 mins or less, but this is better than nothing?

So last December I gifted myself a quick cold brew coffee maker that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, a few months later after only a handful of uses, I lost one of the tiny filter pieces. So its just been collecting dust in my cabinet. But now im wondering if it can still be used?

I’m about to take a nap but if I wake up before it’s too late, I’m considering trying to make my own pizza from scratch. My biggest issue will be figuring out how to make a sauce that I actually like… Maybe I can find a Pizza Hut copycat recipe….

So far the tea people are all using fresh leaves, herbs, and fruits for everything. I’m not seeing too many brand-name tins being pulled out. But I’m also only halfway through the video. And I probably should rewatch it to make sure I just didn’t notice them or something.

Taffy Yaps @garourex.bsky.social · 8h

Comparing the coffee & tea videos, I feel like coffee people used more preprocessed materials than tea people. I mentioned how 3+ people used Nestlé instant coffee. But there were others who used other brands of preground coffee too.

Super intrigued by the Nigerian Zobo tea, but I know I’m too damn lazy to do all that. Super intrigued by the Trinidad Bush tea too, but wondering if it’d make a good soup broth (before adding sugar or condensed milk) with all the herbs he put in there.

I like how in both the coffee and tea compilations someone mentioned “This is how we did it before/during Europe’s colonization of our country”. I don’t know if I’ve ever had milk in my tea. Considering I’m a dairy fiend this is kind of weird. Looks like I have something else to try.

I don’t think I can handle Turkish coffee. It looks condensed and strong enough to kill an ox. Plus the grounds are left in it, so you have to drink slowly to avoid the grounds and I’m WAY too impatient for that.

Taffy Yaps @garourex.bsky.social · 9h

I’m a big fan of the fact that apparently a lot of French people have their coffee in cups that look like bowls so they can dip their various breads and pastries into the coffee. I need to start doing that shit.

#TaffyUmas Aw, no matches. Well, their Real™ counterparts may not be related to the other Mejiros, but at least in Fictional horse game world they have a lot of lovely cousins who love them dearly! 💗💗💗💗💗💗 Maybe in my AU, ill make Grandma = Mejiro Chenille anyway & have the sisters mom be adopted?

#TaffyUmas Well, after all that comparing it seems I was maybe wrong but maybe right? All the Real™ horses have Chenille in their ancestry except Ramonu and Ardan. But that may be due to the charts limitations. I wonder if I can find a list of all Chenille's children somewhere? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

100

Taffy Yaps @garourex.bsky.social · 12h

#TaffyUmas Bright & Dober are related to Mac similarly to Ryan since the Real™ horses are Real™ Ryans offspring. But lets check the moms side too. Dober - Dobers Grandpa is Macs Great Gramps, Double Related! Bright - No double relations, but Real™ Maruzensky is Real™ Brights gramps??? 😮

100

Taffy Yaps @garourex.bsky.social · 12h

#TaffyUmas The Pedigree charts go back 4 gens for each Real™ horse, so they could be related 5+gens back but im not looking at all that. Mac &: Palmer - Share a Great Great grandmother named Chenille. Ramonu & Ardan - No relation at all????? Ryan - Share a grandmother named Cheryl AND GGG Chenille.
