All of our lives we are told that stealing is wrong. Now we're being told that stealing is wrong unless software does it. It's giving "four legs good, two legs better." AI is just imperialism is just patriarchy is just rape culture.

Oct 11th is 25 yrs since my dad died of stage 4 colon cancer. Being his caregiver for 4 yrs gave me crippling medical anxiety. I've been working on it for 8 yrs. Today I went to my colonoscopy consult alone. 💃🏻🎉💪🏻

I'm paraphrasing something I heard today that has stuck with me: people in power will often use religion to justify atrocities. But it's rarely used to justify avoiding them. Meanwhile, Zephyr abides. #greyhounds #sighthounds #skyhounds

I was deeply unprepared for how gratifying footage without sound could be. It felt like a shade of what is inevitably to come.

AI seems primarily to exist as a tool intended to deceive, and ultimately to gaslight and discredit. To create doubt and obfuscate the truth. That puts ordinary people at an incredible disadvantage, but hey I guess you could keep making stupid content with it or whatever.

Moxie, my rescue Florida boxie, got a clean bill of health at the vet. I had zero experience with reptiles when I got her three years ago, but she's doing great, much to my relief.

I do a fair bit of code switching. But if I'm angry, sleepy, or altered it comes out pretty thick. The three cities that are most similar for me are so close together that they overlap on the map. Mobile, montgomery, and Columbus Georgia. I'm from Northeast Florida. spent my whole life here.

Florida counties are removing flock cameras. I think the GOP politicians realized that they would also be tracked and not just immigrants, women seeking reproductive healthcare, bipoc folks, the poors, queer people and registered Democrats. We tried this a while back with stoplight cameras y'all.

We used to sing 9 to 5 on the swing at my nursery after school program in the 1st grade. Before Fox News my grandparents watched the Nashville Network exclusively. She was a constant presence long before there was an internet. No one is universally loved but she came damn close.

nothing compares to the analog existence. Being able to enjoy art, make things, and have experiences privately just simply for the joy of it. There's just nothing better. I was an early adopter of the internet and now it's the complete opposite.

Record store haul. This stack cost me less than 20 bucks bc I buy the budget used vinyl purely for listening. It's exciting to be excited about music again, ad and algorithm free.

I'd love to know why the DNC doesn't support races in FL. The options for governor are abysmal. The only viable candidate is a gop turncoat. So you can have fascism or republican lite. And because of the Overton window that just means Republican. Why are we repeating the Charlie Crist playbook? 🙄
