I have so many thoughts on this. I think that, ultimately, it comes down to fear, momento mori, and the fact that disability is a subconscious reminder of these unresolved emotional confrontations

No one is gatekeeping trauma. Getting to adulthood without required support can absolutely be traumatic; that you are still here is huge! Unsupported needs can be fatally traumatic for some 💕

I identified it in myself at around age six or seven. My source said it was only in boys and that they would never initiate touch and avoid eye contact. Despite lacking these three apparently defining characteristics I still identified with every other aspect and saw myself reflected

Just a little 3am rant 🧵 So, I got an infection. Fine, that happens. Got antibiotics and a culture that confirmed that these were the correct antibiotics to use.
