Thank you so much for your help! I promise I'm a real dude and not a scalper 😭 We bought from StubHub and paid scalper prices so just trying to recover our costs. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me 🙏

@ladynuala.bsky.social would you know how I can connect with folks to possibly get these to someone?

My wife and friends are all ARMY, and I'm tagging along. We ended up with 2 tix that our group doesn't need and just trying to cover my costs. I'd love to get these to someone else at cost, but since I bought on StubHub they are higher than face value 😓 Not trying to make any $, just cover the cost

Hoping this gets to the right place: #ARMY #BTS #bangtan I have 2 tix to BTS in Chicago Fri 8/28. Friends got seats elsewhere, so selling the two I have. Bought on StubHub. Only trying to cover my costs. $738.82 for 2 tix = $369.41/ticket. Section 431 row 19. Reply or DM me if interested.

4-panel vertical comic. (1) 100 Years Ago [two people standing next to bicycle with small car nearby] PERSON 1: It’s too dangerous riding a bike with these cars around. I should get a car, too. (2) 50 Years Ago [two people between smaller car and bigger car] PERSON 2 with short hair: Small cars are less safe in collisions with larger vehicles, so I should get a bigger one. Update snippet from NYT; sounds like whatever deal that is in the works to reopen the government will reinstate fired workers and provide back pay.

But obviously this too comes at a cost. This is a philosophical position that might make sense at a macro level but what about the families going hungry right now? If I needed food and hadn’t eaten in days idk that I’d care about any of that, I’d just want access to food.

100% agree. In my mind the way out of this (which has its risks) would have been for Ds to double down and not give in; let it get sufficiently bad that Rs get forced to cede ground.

Would be curious to hear why we can (or can’t) imitate what Tokyo does with their train stations.

My impression is that they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. They chose ACA subsidies as their battleground. But the costs so far have been furloughed/fired federal workers + SNAP. But also, if they *never* put up a fight, they’d be criticized for that too (and rightly so IMO).

I’ll be curious to hear what they end up claiming RE healthcare. The current NYT reporting sounds like the best they got was an agreement to bring the issue to a vote in December - not exactly a guarantee… Feels like they fought and didn’t achieve anything but pissing off their own base.

Curious to hear other people’s thoughts. I don’t think there was ever really a “win” scenario here for the Dems. Idk how far out they planned an end game. What would you have liked to see happen?

“I got to figure”, the tenant said. “We all got to figure. There’s some way to stop this. It’s not like lightning or earthquakes. We’ve got a bad thing made by men, and by God that’s something we can change.” - John Steinbeck, Grapes of Wrath (ch 5)

If anyone has Zohran merch (buttons, pins, etc) I’d love to nab some! If you got an Etsy link or something would be happy to support.

How long would it take us to spin up an online tracker for these folks with a FB style “poke” button to remind them

Car, subway, airplane, car, bike, walk. Just needed a bus and I’d have transit bingo?

I think I took almost every mode of transit today in an attempt to get home early enough to early vote. (Waiting in line)

SO this lady who lives miles away from me in a different neighborhood filed a complaint w/the city that’s now potentially going to get my little free library & little free pantry shut down unless we can amend code to specifically protect site amenities as such pls sign my petition c.org/DRrMJb6Czq

a screen shot of an email that says:

Hi Ace,

There are 1600 food pantries in Palm Beach County. There are meals on wheels. There are a lot of resources. I don’t need crackheads outside at 2 AM getting food from your little pantry and making all kinds of noise on the corner and people dropping off unappropriate food items That bring rats and roaches into the neighborhood. Food pantries make sure all their food is not expired and is up to code. Also people dropping off all kinds of broken items and things like that. Go work at a soup kitchen if you want to help people or do something else and stop putting Black Lives Matter signs and defund the police all lives matter and we need the police we all need order in this world. Not to be mean or condescending, but that little food pantry it needs to go.

Have you ever read about how we almost had free public toilets in the 1990s and then we didn’t because “oh no but what if crime”?

If you haven’t heard the original 4-track demo version of Green Day’s Basket Case, you’re missing out. It’s amazing and a totally different vibe + lyrics. You can find it on their 30th anniversary album of Dookie.

Hm… so you’re saying I have a year to buy a gravel bike 👀

How necessary is a gravel bike? I have an all-around road bike (Giant Defy) with 32s… but I could rent if needed.

Idk if you posted notices about this in advance but if so I missed all of them and I am sad now 😭😭😭 I remember how awesome it looked last year and wish I could join. Here’s to joining the 2026 donut century ride 🍩 (train up from NYC maybe?)
