September 21, 2026 🌱 Aromatic aster in bloom. This plant has the weirdest shape. Bare stem for over half its height, then a lush ball of foliage and flowers. There’s a second aromatic aster nearby, with the same shape. Both plants have their lush crowns lying on the ground, because physics 😂

August 28, 2026 🌱 I put my little snakeroot in a tomato cage because I was worried I’d accidentally pull it. Now in year two, it’s bush-sized, growing both inside and outside the cage. It’s also about to bloom at the same time as last year — not earlier like most of my plants.

August 19, 2026 🌱 On second thought, I think the violet in the crack is actually tall bellflower. Violets and tall bellflower aren’t closely related, but they have similar leaves. This carpet is definitely tall bellflower. I had tall bellflower growing here, and it self-seeded with a vengeance.
