Thanks to everyone for coverage and spreading info about #stopkillinggames! We managed to gather 1 448 270 signatures across EU countries. Now let's hope at least a million of those signatures are valid and Eurocomission will do as much as possible for saving games and not a bare minimum.

Sometimes people read diagonally and make things up. #stopkillinggames initiative wants to make games playable AFTER End-of-Support from the publisher. Nobody wants to host servers forever and actually this initiative isn't against GaaS model if such games would have EoL version of a game.

...В индустрии это уже показывали неоднократно (Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Dragon Quest X Offline), это никак на конкурентов не влияет. Более того, это конкуренты диктуют тренды рынка, так как совокоты в разы меньше и нишевее, чем Ubisoft, EA, Microsoft и т.п. Рынок порешал за "You own nothing".

Зачем? 1. Инициатива не требует поддержания полной функциональности. Кооп имеет тот же контент, что и соло-игра (но лагучее). Одиночная игра спокойно запускается без сервера. 2. Инициатива работает только при окончании сервиса. Пока сервис работает, ничего делать не надо. 3. Это дело одного патча.

Actually, SKG received 10000 signatures for Australian petition and 8000 signatures for Canadian petition and even back in 2016 bombarded EA CEOs with tons of mails to stop killing Darkspore. The thing is, Collective Shout just used existing international laws. Especially, my favourite one:

Actually, it's a pretty common thing in EULAs for publishers. For example, let's take Saint's Row 3: store.steampowered.com/eula/eula_55230?eulaLang=english And it's not recent, Internet Archive dated it to 2015: web.archive.org/web/20150120... In some countries (US) this EULA is fully operational

In 2018, I played Survarium. I even read a book that was based on this game. In 2022, the game was killed. The game did not manage to survive up to the release of Stalker 2. #stopkillinggames

Heroes & Generals. One of the most fun and at the same time "awful" games with a bunch of local memes. The publisher killed it along with all my achievements. But caring people from the community decided to restore the game and now I can play it again at any time. #stopkillinggames

One time I watched a review of Anno 2070 and immediately bought the game. Unfortunately, Ubisoft wanted to kill the multiplayer servers of this game... however Ubisoft Mainz, developer of the game, intervened and stopped them. That trick didn't work with The Crew. #stopkillinggames

I remember reading about Battlefield 2142 and being so taken by it. Unfortunately, I didn't have internet at the time, and later it turned out that all online components of the game were destroyed by the Gamespy shutdown. Since then EA just constantly hunting independent servers. #stopkillinggames

My first online game was Sphere 2: Arena. I remember installing it from a magazine disc that had its client on it. It wasn't the best game, but I spent a few interesting days playing it and it stuck in my memory. When I wanted to play it again a couple of years later, it was gone. #stopkillinggames

One event changed so little. Israel's far-right government didn't believe in a two-state solution for a long time before that. Even if we talk only about the blockade, it began in 2005-2007. There can be no peace between Israel and Palestine they are two failed states that need ton of work to reform

It's different. Countries in Eurovision are represented by media members of EBU. Russia was represented by state media "RTR" and "First Channel": both banned in EU due to worldwide hatred manipulations and misinformation. Israel is represented by state media IPBC. Does nothing of the sort to EU.

Any national member of >European Broadcasting Union< can participate in Eurovision. Even associated members can participate - that's why Australia is participating in Eurovision since 2015. NB! Members of EBU are media! Israel is represented by IPBS, Australia by SBS, UK by BBC, Estonia by ERR, etc

"Perfect" is a bit... No, I mean he knows the language, but his accent is thicc and he rarely speaks English in public. There are almost no such clips as below lately, because Putin playing the role of a strong dictator and speaks Russian almost all the time.
