The Long Goodbye (1973) Sitting somewhere between the noir films of yesteryear and the neo noir films to come, The Long Goodbye manages to have a timelessly cool and relatable protagonist (played flawlessly by Gould) an engaging mystery and an ending that subverts tropes and expectations. 020

Fantastic atmosphere, slow burn and a compelling story. You also have Kiernan Shipka AND Emma Roberts as your leads. Need I say more? Great early A24 psych horror 150

Naughton and Dunne have great chemistry. The werewolf+transformation is probably one of my favorites ever put on screen and the ending is a gut punch, it gets me everytime. 250

The Empty Man (2020) Dripping with atmosphere and cosmic dread from the opening moments, full of twists and turns in the narrative, and a premise you either love or hate. I die on the hill that this is one of the best psychological horrors out there. Underrated gem failed by marketing 150

Today it was “The Long Goodbye” Really loved the way private eye Philip Marlowe was portrayed by Elliot Gould. The story was full of twists and turns and great cinematography. Just a fantastic noir film from start to finish. 2120
