Originally missed out on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Xbox, as it pretty much sold out everywhere last year. Didn’t expect to see it pop up in the pre-played bin at EB Games. #xbox

Starting to think this Xbox Play Anywhere thing is pretty cool, especially when it works with their new disc-to-digital initiative. #xbox #silenthillf

We got a new shooter for the SEGA Master System (SMS) called Razing Core by Bad Company. Since the Game Gear is basically a portable SMS, I picked up the ROM and dropped it onto a flash cart. Definitely looking forward to playing a ton of this one! #segasaturday

When the Genesis port of Samurai Shodown was released, the sequel was already in arcades, but it was the best way to learn the basics of specific characters so you could demonstrate your expertise when a quarter was dropped.

The Big Red is back, this time with Robo Army occupying one of the slots. A fun little beat ’em up that came out way back in 1991. #neogeo #arcade

My daughter enjoying a round of Real Bout Fatal Fury Special. Watching the younger generation appreciate the classics is pretty heartwarming. 😄 #arcade #neogeo

I didn’t really play GTA V when it first came out. I tried it back in the day and quickly moved on to something else. Then I saw it on sale for $3.99 and figured, why not? The plan, play it in October or November right when everyone else is paying $100 for GTA VI. #gtav

The amazing Real Bout Fatal Fury Special is one of the games on rotation this month. Easily one of my top five fighters on the system. I’ll definitely be spending a lot of time with this one over the next few weeks. #neogeo

I was first introduced to the Dragon Quest franchise in early 1991 through the Nintendo Power promotion that gave away a copy of Dragon Warrior. Forty years later, the series still feels special to me. Happy 40th DQ! #dragonquest

The fact that I can access Steam, GOG, and Epic Games titles directly through the Game Library section of the ROG Xbox Ally has me genuinely interested in seeing what Project Helix delivers. #xbox

Enjoying Forza Horizon 6 on the base ROG Xbox Ally. Visually compromised at times, but it still manages to keep the Horizon gameplay feel intact on the small screen. An interesting way to play on the go.

Still mind blown after all these years that both Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog made appearances on a Neo Geo platform. Imagine if they would have had SNK developed MVS arcade games.

Metal Slug 3 is in my top 10 favorite games of all time, so I had to go through one full playthrough again. I used way too many credits and need more practice.

Happy May the 4th to those who celebrate. One of the rare home ports of a Star Wars arcade game. A little janky at times, sure, but Star Wars Arcade still has its charm.

Perfect timing. It’s Fighting Game Friday, and one of the games on rotation this month is the often-overlooked Rage of the Dragons on the Neo Geo MVS.

Cleared Blazing Star on the Neo Geo MVS before it left rotation. First 3 levels were solid. After that… I fall apart. Too many credits. More practice needed.

Back to Crystal Lake with Friday the 13th: Revisited on Game Boy Color. A fantastic update to the NES original. I’ll always have a soft spot for the first version, but this one finally refines the experience into something truly worth revisiting.

Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward Spiral remains one of my all-time favourite albums. I’ve been listening to it in various formats since the summer of ’94.

Blazing Star rounds out the Neo Geo MVS lineup for March 2026. As I’ve said many times, it’s one of the best shooters on the platform. A game that always keeps you coming back. Looking forward to this week’s playthrough.

As much as I enjoy fighting games on a cabinet or fight stick, I love playing them on handhelds too. Guilty Gear Strive on the original Nintendo Switch is criminally overlooked. It looks and plays amazing (especially on OLED).

Double Dragon One (Neo Geo homebrew) is a killer reimagining of the original using assets from a delisted iOS game. Official physical release would be amazing, licensing would probably be a nightmare.

One of the three games on rotation in the Neo Geo MVS arcade cabinet this month is Data East’s Windjammers. It’s one of the best two-player games on the platform.

The second game appearing this month on the Neo Geo MVS is Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge. It marked a return to form for the series and is one I really enjoy. Of course, an excellent pick for Fighting Game Friday!

MicroSD prices are insane (in Canadian dollars). Hopefully, no one buys at these prices and we get an overstock fire sale someday.
MicroSD prices have gone up considerably in the last few days/weeks.

We finally have a reason as to why the Steam Deck is out of stock.
Valve revealing that the Steam Deck stock issues are due to memory and storage shortages.

One of the three February titles in rotation on the Neo Geo MVS is The Last Blade 2. Quite possibly one of the greatest 2D weapons-based fighters ever made.

Still deep in the original Silent Hill on PS1, but I’ll be firing up the Dreamcast for my first playthrough of Grandia II soon. Perfect time for a SEGA Saturday picture.

Waku Waku 7 is a fun, anime-styled fighter that feels right at home on the Neo Geo. Easy to pick up, full of personality, and perfect for quick sessions when you just want to play.

Do you remember the first time you played a King of Fighters game? I’m old enough to remember seeing KoF ’94 brand new in arcades. The team-based battles felt fresh and original in a genre full of Street Fighter II clones. I still go to play it at least once a year.

Back to where it started, Silent Hill on PS1. Portable play with good headphones feels like the right way to experience these early entries. The plan is to work through the series. Realistically, Silent Hill 2 is the goal… but we’ll see how far the fog takes me.

Picked up this Analogue Pocket in late 2023. With JOTEGO cores, it’s become my go-to nostalgia machine. If you can, you need to try this amazing “What if OutRun GB” port on the GameBoy Colour, it’s amazing.

Strikers 1945 Plus is on rotation today. I’ve always enjoyed this late ‘90s Psikyo shooter. One of those games that just holds up.

Only the best for Fighting Game Friday, no A.I., just pure Garou: Mark of the Wolves pixel perfection! Easily a top-five retro fighting game of all time… and arguably the best.

Last summer I sold most of my heavy-hitter games and some key comics to fund a project. That included my entire PS2 Silent Hill set, mint and complete. I missed Silent Hill 2 the most. Rebuying the PS2 version didn’t make sense, so I grabbed the Xbox Platinum Hits version instead. I’m fine now :)

I was planning to pop in Virtua Racing before heading to bed, but OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast had other ideas.

Picked this up day one. It’s fine, but it never really improves on the original. If you already own the Dreamcast version, you’re probably not missing much by skipping this.

Bomberman’s sprite on Neo Geo is pixel perfection, in my opinion. Neo Bomberman might be the best the character has ever looked. Can you think of a better representation? #neogeo #bomberman #neobomberman

Popped in Blazing Star on the good old Neo Geo. I’m not that great at it. On a good day, I can make it through the first two levels without using a continue. Definitely something I’d like to improve at. #snksunday

I’ve come to realize that Virtua Racing is one of my comfort games. It’s been a go-to for years. Any chance I get, I’m playing it on Switch, 32X, or Genesis. It’s just one of those games that puts me at ease. What are your comfort games?

Have you ever played Aggressors of Dark Kombat? It’s an interesting concept, but a lesser-known title that likely got lost in the fighting game shuffle back in ’94.
