Tip for #unrealengine devs making PC games that support controllers: Architect your UI to support controller navigation at the beginning. Don't start with mouse only or you may redo a lot of your work later.

It's been a tough road but I managed to deploy the @fieldofheroes.com Creator Kit for players to make their own fields with on a test machine through #steam Neither MS nor Epic's components work out of the box so I'll really need to have my tech-support A-game ready. But worth it!

#unrealengine tip: Even if your game runs smoothly, use the profiler and "stat NiagaraSystems" to make sure your Niagara emitters are properly cleaning up and not hurting performance. I was surprised at what I found in my game. This tutorial helped: dev.epicgames.com/community/le...
