Just added a new coach to my hockey game where you don't control the players. Instead, you play as the coach and use a deck of dirty tricks to cheat and exploit your way to victory. 👴The Debt Collector! #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #hockey #roguelike #roguelite

Some interesting notes: - The game has gotten essentially zero press coverage - Rejected from every festival applied - IGN won't even host my trailer, not even on the GameTrailers channel - No big streamer coverage - no real viral videos, tweets, posts, etc. - Only steady growth from real people.

I don't have hard data on that actually, but anywhere from 10-40 I'd guess. There is definitely a decently wide range of variability in how long matches last.

Loren | wishlist Super Blood Hockey: Rogue Manager @gamesbyloren.com · 10/08/2026

Haha thanks :D The deck definitely matters. Without your intervention, your odds of winning are 50-50. So you must tilt that more to your favor by using the cards :) Especially if you want to be the season champion!

Actually it seems the -6% is reflective of the fact it is in a bundle with another game that is on discount in which you currently own one of the games in said bundle. Valve is saying this is not a bug and is an intended behavior... weird if you ask me :D

010

Loren | wishlist Super Blood Hockey: Rogue Manager @gamesbyloren.com · 04/08/2026

Hi, I am the dev of Terror of Hemasaurus. The game is not currently on a scheduled discount, so I am not sure why it is showing as -6% off. I believe that is some sort of a bug, or might reflect its relative price compared to USD or something like that.

I have had multiple people ask me "What platforms are you building for? Where are you at in development, pre-production, mid-production or nearing release?" using almost the same language and vocab.. And every message they send contains another follow-up question.

Has any one else in the #gamedev #indiedev community been receiving lots of weird messages which feel like they are AI bots asking them market research questions? e.g. details about the game you are making.

Exactly! Yup, one of the goals was to make it as short and easily digestible as possible :)

110

Loren | wishlist Super Blood Hockey: Rogue Manager @gamesbyloren.com · 11/07/2026

I brainstormed it for a bit, sat on it for a week, came back and read it to see if it was clear and accomplished what I wanted it to. Repeated for a few weeks, eventually arrived at this. I pitched it to several people along the way to see if it made sense, communicated how the game was played, etc.

Thanks! I have started to notice there is a niche audience that really seems to be connecting with the hook / premise of the game. I did spend a lot of time crafting it and figuring out how to word my elevator pitch, because I thought it was vital to explain the genre mashup.

Loren | wishlist Super Blood Hockey: Rogue Manager @gamesbyloren.com · 11/07/2026

Thanks! You are right that the ads probably under report their conversions. I definitely do think the ads are worth it, a little trickle seems to help keep the ball rolling :)

Its a sequel / spinoff to a prior game, which probably helped, I also have built a small following over the years, and I am running $1-3 per day in reddit ads (which according to tracking accounts for ~5% of wishlists).
