Yes. And I'm all for it. And I realize this is probably not the best space to have a good conversation about this, but I have yet to see a convincing mechanism for it that starts from our current reality and can reasonably reach a significantly better system...

I don't think the problem is the dilemma/choice. The problem is the rich people are in control of the lever and unless the rest of the world (us) force them out decisively and take control of it, you can guess which choice *they're* making...

I honestly don't have a problem when it's ignorance and their reaction to the information is some variation of "WELL FUCK". The worst for me is if they say "but it's not AS bad" or that it "isn't a big deal". Like actual wtf.

Some other mechanics that generate stress in players (which I assume is what you mean): - Forced character sheet changes - One-shot access to information (with no time to write it down) - Save or suck roll

I love how the focus is on player *characters* dying and not whether the *players* had fun. TPKs can be fun for everyone, and that's a great session. And, obviously, a boss fight where you beat the crap out of the boss can be shit. (Reverse is also true. What matters is fun, not "winning".)
