Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 22/02/2026It’s kind of insane that the laziest sci-fi trope of my childhood – heroes tricking an adversarial AI into doing something they want – is now just a normal part of daily life. 0131

Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 02/01/2026Why does Freddy Krueger have a glove with knives, is he stupid? Because it's scarier this way. 030
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 02/01/2026I really hate the modern trend in fiction of explaining everything. Dune was better without prequels. Horrors don’t need villain origin stories. It’s okay to leave things unsaid. Imagine if Solaris or The Martian Chronicles had alien backstory spinoffs. 170
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 12/11/2025I still have two Steam Machine prototypes in my garage from ~10 years ago. But this time it actually feels like the idea has a chance. Steam Deck compatibility + SteamOS maturity make a big difference! Now it all comes down to price and performance - people expect a lot from a living-room PC. 0130

Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 02/11/2025Ok, it's not a bug, it seems one of my devices got into a wrong side of an A/B test and now is cursed to accessing a low-quality TikTok clone instead of Instagram. 070
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 29/10/2025After the latest update, my Instagram doesn’t have a photo tab. Completely gone, it’s all videos now. I hope it’s a bug. 140
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 25/10/2025Once Upon a Katamari is the perfect kind of sequel: familiar, but better in every way. Quirky, a bit more difficult, less repetitive. And still weirdly meditative to play. 040
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 23/10/2025I can’t quite figure out who the Leica M EV1 is aimed at. If the rangefinder’s getting harder to use (say, eyes are getting worse), most people would just stick a Visoflex on their M11, right? How big is the audience that loves manual focus but hates rangefinders and wants focus peaking instead? 020
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 16/10/2025Wow, a new Dick Turpin on Apple TV! I thought they canceled it! And it's so good! C'mon, Apple, give us the second season! 000

Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 22/09/2025This GDC announcement is certainly confusing. And the deck doesn't make things any clearer. Is it a consumer show now? Is it just cheaper? What changed? ubm.ent.box.com/v/GDC26-FoG-...ubm.ent.box.comGDC26_New Era Deck.pdf | Powered by Box 091
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 15/07/2025RX1R is back! So happy about the fixed-lens cameras having such a massive comeback. And with Sony now back in play, it should get really interesting. It seems to have the same sensor as Q3, but the camera is much smaller and lighter. No mention of IBIS, though electronics.sony.com/imaging/comp...electronics.sony.com 000

Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 13/07/2025Here is a dilemma. I love my Leica M11 – it makes me slow down, think about focus and framing, but I often miss the shot. My Q3 43’s autofocus and flip-screen are perfect for quick snaps – but I end up spray-and-praying, and often get mediocre pictures. Which one should I pack for the next trip? 240
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 03/07/2025I am playing it on Switch 2, but it’s a version for the original Switch without any optimizations. Runs great in both modes! I think it would sell great on PC, but Vanillaware seems against it, they never port anything :( 110
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 03/07/2025Also, the demo is about 6 hours long and barely scratches the surface. If you’re into tactical RPGs, definitely check it out – it’s 50% off on Switch right now. 230
Sergiy Galyonkin @galyonkin.com · 03/07/2025Just got Unicorn Overlord on sale. Surprised I missed it when it launched - I am a big fan of Fire Emblem and Vanillaware games, so this is right up my alley. I only learned about the game a couple of months ago when I saw some merch in Akihabara, and it's been sitting on my wishlist since. 150
