Playing a mediocre game with 60+ hours of insipid writing for approximately 2 hours of interesting things happening at the VERY END of the game—which then ends before anything is resolved while the protag literally gets taken away by a magic gundam schoolbus—sucks.

This experience, however, has taught me about another flaw in myself: a self-destructive willingness to put off pleasure in the now for something that might be fun later. I played approx. 90 hours of the witcher 3 and 500 HOURS of Destiny 2 waiting for the point where I would feel ANYTHING at all.

I wrote a piece 9 or so months ago about my propensity toward discarding things out of hand and assuming I know better. More recently, I wrote an article about how it's important to hone a critical faculty but ALSO how important it is to find things that appeal to your sense of aesthetic.

Higher tiers indicate greater amounts of esotericism. It's one thing to represent your dissociation as static or whatever—that's basic baby shit. Where you truly start to shine is when you're representing dissociation through particular progressions of harsh noise songs.
