Saturday was a glorious autumn day here in Ceredigion #BirdingWales (shame it didn't last) , the farmer cut the field behind our house which brought out the local buzzards and Red kites #BirdOfTheDay #Blueskies #Birds

For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme #scruffy this robin, taken in the garden, looking slightly disgruntled at its lack of elegance #BirdingWales #Birds

One of my favourite garden birds, the unassuming, but very beautiful dunnock. In keeping with today's #BirdOfTheDay theme it has a #mouthful of something's legs #BirdingWales

Well, the teasel I planted last year has been a great success. In flower the pollinators loved it and today the goldfinch arrived for the seeds #BirdingWales #Birds

Finally remembered to book this event. Nice to have an option to pay an extra tenner for your ticket to support the attendance of a young person. #BirdingWales

Well I'm quite pleased with these - even managing to see the Goldcrests is lovely but actually getting a recognisable photo very much a bonus. Also meets today's #BirdOfTheDay alt theme of #ASplashOfColour - taken this morning in my garden #BirdingWales #Birds

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #YourChoice this appears to be my last photo (taken last week) of the local Swifts for this year, as there's been a distinct lack of them over the last few days - I miss their screaming already and look forward to their return next year #BirdingWales #Birds

For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme #SummerLovin can't think of anything more appropriate than the local swifts, which I have become slightly obsessed with photographing, usually badly. Watching them scream and wheel across the sky is an absolute joy. #BirdingWales #Birds

With my camera (and more importantly my photographic skill, or lack of it) quite pleased to actually capture the local swifts. I have plenty of empty blue sky photos as well 😅 #BirdingWales #Birds

The local rookery is now quiet again as the fledglings have left the nests, as have the chimney pot jackdaws, but that just means flocks of corvids wheeling and chattering overhead, which fits the #BirdOfTheDay theme #black #BirdingWales #Birds

Always a joy to see fledglings in the garden, but they do cause me some angst. Witness this little Robin, resting in the doghouse (we have no dogs, the previous owners left it behind, but there are plenty of neighbourhood felines) and then on the low wall. #BirdingWales #Birds

I love the sheer range of calls the local rooks seem to have, but at this time of year, what's known in our house as unhappy rook (official definitions are available) is a sure sign that one of the local kites has entered the no-fly zone near the rookery and is duly chased off #BirdingWales #Birds

Always enjoy the wrens singing in the garden, but difficult to photo (well for me at any rate). So I was delighted when this one decided that the top of the conifer was a good place to announce its presence. #BirdingWales #Birds
