Haven't been around lately because I've been helping a friend of mine campaign for Circuit Court judge. It's been a busy summer! Here is me on a boat on the river during a fundraiser and a bunch of lazy dogs. My greyhound is doing well at the age of 14 1/2 and I will be fostering in December.

Had to take a screenshot of this because downloading it as a photo was difficult (probably because of copyright). It shows the greyhound edging out the galgo, which is edging out the saluki. Obviously, all the sighthounds are the fastest. Galgos average about 43 mph compared to a greyhound at 45.

Very stressful week for me, especially because this one ended up overnight in the doggy hospital after Minion tore up a comforter and Cano ate--and upchucked--the stuffing. He wasn't holding food down, so I didn't take the risk. Turns out there was no obstruction. And my power was out this morning.

I have been FRANTIC since I got home from my office today. Guapo refused breakfast and supper, was acting lethargic and weak. I took him in for an emergency appointment; bloodwork showed everything normal, UA showed a UTI. He's gotten worse since. Emergency call to the on-call. Trying not to panic.

I started Tamarind on selegiline this morning. He begins to get agitated at 6:00 every single night. It's been disruptive for my evening telehealth sessions. He can wander and pace for hours and I know he's miserable. I also brushed a whole dog's worth of hair out of him today for summer comfort!

This is truly my superpower. I can spot a sighthound, whether real or rendered in art form, in the fleeting background scene in a show or movie, no matter how fast the camera is panning. This is in The Testaments. I can spot a real life sighthound from LITERALLY a mile away, also. #sighthounds

I'm a prog/experimental/psychedelic rock FANATIC--old, new, don't care. My latest obsession is Angine de Poitrine and I'm branching out from there. (Horse Lords have a new album June 11!) Weirdly, I do not like KG and the LW. More info in the alt text. It takes HOURS to explore even a little of it!

My current obsession: "Slipdot" as some wag called them. They sound like a mashup of Adrian Belew-era King Crimson, Tool, and Primus (yeah, I know I'm supposed to say "Primus sucks" here, because that's what Les Claypool wants). Anyway, they're Quebecois and used to have a band called La Poex, wherein the guitarist also played barefoot. Microtonal riffs are not new and I grew up with a dad who loved experimental jazz and knew about trumpet microtonal music in the 1970s. Check out Brendan Byrnes and Henge.
