Thinking of splitting the weekend between begrudgingly doing Dietrich's Pt. 1 and various Castlevania stuff due to excitement for Belmont's Curse in about a week. Also I have survived another year. Fear my currently-not-disproven immortality.

Finished reading Book 8 of Secrets of the Silent Witch this week, so I'm caught up on the English translations and need to wait indefinitely for the remaining volumes to be translated. Shame, I was enjoying going through volumes 6-8 relatively quickly.

Started reading "There is No Antimemetics Division" which should be a fairly quick read and seems alright for what it is, an SCP story with the serial numbers filed off.

Finished Leda's Pt. 1 in Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave. The only Part One I have not finished now is Dietrich's, but I'm torn between devoting the time to finish that and just advancing the plot due to impatience with how long it's been not doing later plot bits. I think I will do Dietrich's pt. 1 anyway but in the least intensive way I can manage. Minimal ally recruitment, no exploring optional areas, leveling as fast as possible with accumulated EXP boosts.

It's true to a certain degree. If you've finished a part 1 and sidequests are shared with another part 1 you don't need to redo most of them, with the exception of Paralogues. They just give you the rewards. Map data seems to carry over too, so exploring thoroughly the first time isn't "wasted".

I can't tell if Fortune's Weave is too big or if the game didn't really account for people who would want to do every Pt. 1 section before advancing the plot. ~70 hours and I'm not done with all four of those (I'm closing in on the end of a third). #blutoid

Maybe I can try getting back on my Castlevania bullshit since the new one is soon? That's an option for what to do with the rest of the weekend since I don't feel like returning to Welcome to Elderfield just yet.

Social media post. Contents: Finished 2/4 of the first paths in Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, Cai's and Theodora's, giving the game a break over the weekend at minimum before delving into further attempts at Leda and Dietrich.

Finished reading Vol. 6 of the Sentenced to Be a Hero light novels. Still like the characters of this series but unclear on where the plot is really going (except vaguely) and it clearly doesn't have the steam to be a 30-volume epic so I hope the author doesn't try to make it one.

Started reading Vol. 6 of Secrets of the Silent Witch, about halfway through, if I manage to finish it over the weekend I might immediately start vol. 7. I have up to 8 on hand. This series is comfortable, it's not particularly demanding or trying to be revolutionary but it knows the kind of story it wants to tell and tells it well.

Other than reading more Silent Witch and maybe some other stuff if I feel up to it, not sure what I plan to do with the rest of the weekend.

Digimon Beat Break was kind-of a mess but it was a fun mess I am happier for having experienced. I hope the next show whatever form it takes is also arc-based like it so I don't have to struggle through my distaste for episodic media to get the good bits.

Pretty easy but I don't play permadeath and I'm not at Pt. 2 yet so take with a huge grain of salt if you do play permadeath or are later in the game.

I'm hoping to pull myself away from Fire Emblem enough to do a significant amount of reading but we'll see what happens.

Been focused mostly on Fire Emblem to little surprise. It's pretty great so far. I've done like half of each of the flame lords initial bits, except for Cai, who I'm about to end the part 1 of soon. Debating replaying the last chapter of Cai's part 1 a time or two to make it possible to recruit a couple characters before the other routes. Undecided if I actually will.

I also impulsively double dipped on Ball X Pit while waiting for a thing. Now I have it on Switch 2 and started fresh, compared to my PC save, which had done most of the game before the many updates. Since I already beat the game on PC I'm not going to rush this time or count it as a backlog thing.

Hoping to spend a fair amount of the weekend reading, I picked up Volume 6 of Sentenced To Be a Hero (light novels) and Volume 8 of Secrets of the Silent Witch (same). I'm not on track to read the latter yet but I've already started the former.

Bonus points if I progress at all in Welcome to Elderfield.

I don't know how much I'll be able to pull myself away from Fire Emblem to do either, but I'll try.

More Elderfield and more of the last campaign of Fire Emblem Three Houses should fill out the bulk of the rest of my weekend. Dunno yet what to do with the other bits, we'll see.

Social media post. Contents: Week was rough in places but I'm starting to recover, the emotional well-being boon of a new fire emblem shortly helps.

Finished Shantae and the Seven Sirens in the last week or so, got like 63% completion or something like that at 7 hours logged in the save and 10+ actual.

Finished reading the novella Nine Goblins by T. Kingfisher and the novel Daggerborn by the same some time in the last week or two. I liked them both. Nine Goblins got surprisingly dark. Daggerborn was up front about its dark bits if you read the previous book or any of the related books.

Started playing Welcome to Elderfield on a whim, it's a horror RPG with some farming sim bits. I like it so far.

The first episode of Kamen Rider My-th debuted recently and though I think it wasn't great as a first episode it set up some interesting things and I'm looking forward to see where this show goes.

Enjoyed my time with Shantae and the Seven Sirens, not going back to 100% it but I virtually never do that. In concept I wish it had weird gimmick side modes like half-genie hero does, but I haven't actually played those side modes yet, so I don't know if something like that would even work.

I wanted to like Kamen Rider Zeztz more than I did. It lost me in the early episodes, got some momentum back by episode 12, and shifted wildly in my personal estimation in the arcs since. I liked it overall I think but I have a lot of issues with it that built up over time.

Deciding how to spend the couple weeks before Fire Emblem. Undecided on much of it so far, except reading as much as my focus allows.

Social media post. Contents: Played a bit of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero ultimate edition, which I'm kinda mixed on. After not much time I'm halfway through the main mode I think. Just as well, I'm probably going to beat the main mode, maybe pick up some secrets, and leave any bonus modes for much later.

Also finally picked up Might and Magic Clash of Heroes Definitive Edition on a whim which is both more and less interesting than I thought it would be. Not sure I'm going to stick with it.

Rereading Death Dealers by MG Gallows and reading Daggerbound by T. Kingfisher for the first time.

Also finished reading Brigands and Breadknives. While it took longer to grab me than the first two entries in the series I still liked it in the end. That being said, I think my interest in this particular series is tapped out.

Blasphemous II cleared at 75% completion, something like 26/33 cherubs, missing a few odds and ends. Save says 39 hours which doesn't seem right but whatever, not going to question it. Probably not going back for the few missing bits tbh, I've had my fun. #blutoid

I'm mixed on traditional roguelikes. I like them in concept but rarely do they grab me as much as genre variants because if a loss is too much more luck-based than skill issue I get too annoyed to feel the "one more run" thing.

I'm in the late game now, I think I have like, three main bosses left not counting the DLC ones. I do want to do the DLCs but I do not really give a damn about 100% completion so I have a hard time telling how many hours of game are left.

Hey all. Played Blasphemous II from the start because I had no desktop access for a couple days and wasn't far in. I've been attempting DLC stuff to avoid fighting Odon for a bit. Halfway through reading Book 5 of Secrets of the Silent Witch, 1/3rd through Brigands and Breadknives.
