VAT should be set on a sliding scale depending on level of need + cost basis, set between 5% & 100%. Do you need a laptop? In the current world, yes so 5%. Do you need a £3000 Apple mac for home use? no so 100%. Do you need a car? yes 5%, do you need a Ferrari? No 100% Food. yes 5% Yacht no 100%
