Found a high quality print of background artwork seen in Inspector Gadget (1983). This was one of Doctor Claw's many fortresses - usually accompanied with a few lightning strikes in the sky behind it.

Thank you so much for sharing this! Were you also responsible for creating the animated character of "Alice" from the cancelled Lupin VIII animated series? She bares a significant resemblance to Sophie/Penny from Inspector Gadget. Thank you for all your contributions to Inspector Gadget!

Mario movie 1 = Donkey Kong Mario movie 2 = Star Fox Mario movie 3 = Inspector Gadget?! C'mon Illumination - think of the comedic possibilities!

Screenshot from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show (1989) episode 'Treasure of the Sierra Brooklyn' guest starring Maurice LaMarche as (the first iteration of) a live-action Inspector Gadget. Captain Lou Albano (as Mario) is standing to the left of Inspector Gadget. On the right is Danny Wells (as Luigi). All three characters appear in a scene towards the end of the episode. They're sway dancing to the left and right, singing 'Do the Mario' - a song used in the ending credits for the show.

After watching my yearly viewing of the Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas special, I noticed a lot of animation errors in this final sequence... perhaps I should fix this up a bit?

My suggestion: watch the unofficial extended cut of Inspector Gadget on Internet Archive. Adds in deleted scenes + music/sound effects from the 80s IG animated series.
