alright, i've pushed the new thing to boat.kelinci.net, a self-service tool for submitting operations to your did:plc identity.

screenshot showing the tool in action, it is a guided/wizard form with clear steps.

1. type in your domain handle/did:plc identifier that you want to submit operations to, and which rotation key you'll be signing the payload with
2. if you've picked the option to sign using your PDS' rotation key, you will be prompted to sign in (using your main password, fret not, the tool does not store the password anywhere)
3. then pick which previous operation to base from, you'd usually pick the last one.
4. enter the intended payload
5. your PDS requires an extra confirmation code sent via email to sign the payload
6. voila!

what on earth? i cannot personally vet every single account i like or interact with, and i like a lot of i.e. replies to my posts, this reasoning is ridiculous

be careful guys if you "interact with an account that engaged in the promotion or sale of" something illegal... big moderation daddy is gonna knock on your door 😨

Familiar Sounds. 🔈

A character on the bed surrounded by ghost cats is sipping their green tea, when they're suddenly distracted by a familiar sound in the other room.

Sword Art Online IRL @saoirl.bsky.social · 07/11/2024

It is confirmed that Sword Art Online has been cleared, and the game is being erased from the servers. 6,147 players remain alive, however some 300 have yet to wake up. It is unclear why, and is being investigated.

Update: i tried resetting the DB back to its previous state (a if i hadn't updated it manually to begin with) Result: to log in, only old handle. In the users tab, it shows old handle. From that account, accessing my profile link with old handle or mentioning it works. Doesn't work on this account

Elaina 🪄 @gachirezu.bsky.social · 29/10/2024

but yeah, it's not possible with updateHandle, i had to manually insert the data in the pds lol i think managed to do it: @web.witchy.mom @the.witchy.mom kinda sad tho that it's like that, i'm also worried this might be kinda fucky because i don't see the update event on the firehose....

this is hilarious, bsky.app/profile/the.... resolves correctly to my did:web, matching both the TXT record and the alsoKnownAs, but the appview is still showing @web.witchy.mom as the handle i don't know if this is a bug (the firehose didn't sent the identity update?), or if it's just cached

120

Elaina 🪄 @gachirezu.bsky.social · 29/10/2024

is it not possible to update your handle if you're a did:web? I updated my did document and tried sending the XRPC but it returns an XRPCNotSupported lol

Elaina 🪄 @gachirezu.bsky.social · 28/10/2024

i'm hosting my own pds and handling my own identity as did:web:witchy.mom now @web.witchy.mom quite a nice feeling tbh, @proto is so cool
