The #GAC_PAQ coordinating centre is happy to announce that data collection for the main study has been completed in India and Nigeria. In both countries, over 500 participants have completed the study. Across the 17 participating countries, we currently have around 5,500 participants.

I shall watch this with interest. There's no way to get 60% of kids actively travelling to school without disrupting current patterns of car-based mobility. This includes making all urban streets safer, not just those right outside schools www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

📣 Introducing Dr. Leigh Vanderloo Leigh is a member of the GAC-PAQ Steering Committee. Her work focuses on PA and movement behaviours in the early years, with an interest in finding ways to better support educators, caregivers, and systems to enable healthy movement beginning in childhood.

📣 Introducing Dr. Mark Tremblay Mark is a co-prinicpal investigator on the GAC-PAQ project, he's published >700 scientific papers and book chapters in the areas of childhood obesity, physical activity measurement, exercise physiology, sedentary physiology, outdoor play and health surveillance.

Wondering what is happening next? The main study has begun! Each country will recruit 500 children/adolescent and a parent or caregiver to... i) Fill out our questionnaire twice, 8 days apart ii) The child will wear an accelerometer during this time to measure their physical activity
