MARIO UPDATE FOR 5/20/2026: I've had to hold off on updates until I could speak with the vet about next steps. It took some time. I am hoping this fund drive can raise about $350 more to cover his re-evaluation (exam and blood panels), plus either an increased www.gofundme.com/f/help-mario...

My 16 year-old cat Mario. I have had to start a GoFundMe drive to get him evaluated and treated for chronic vomiting. He's been losing weight steadily over a two year period, so the suspicion is a food allergy; thankfully, very unlikely to be cancer or bowel obstruction. But he's not gaining weight and throws up a lot with a now-prescribed steroid. Still, he's in need of a follow-up exam and I cannot afford that right now.

He's perky when he gets his meds, so hopefully the follow-up exam will indicate if he needs an increase in his dosage or perhaps a prescription diet or some over-the-counter rabbit- or venison-based food. He's still always hungry, despite the nausea! But right now I'm in a very challenging financial situation and must turn to fund raising to give him some relief. We are very close to accomplishing that.

Everyone is broke these days. So please share it if you can't help out. I very much would appreciate it!

If the anemia can be managed, and the FIP treatments continued, we still have to solve eating, possible food aversion, but that could clear up with the above treatments. Thank you for reading this and considering further help.

Trenta, my two year-old black and white cat battling Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a bladder infection that damaged her kidneys along with the FIP, and anemia caused by kidney damage. Because of lack of sufficient information about treating FIP, as well as strong opinions, many things were missed at first when she was brought to the hospital. We've narrowed it down to the immediate threat (anemia), the hopefully fading threat of the bladder infection, and the crux of the issues, FIP. We need to beat the anemia first. Then FIP treatments, hopefully injections vs less effective oral forms, and hopefully the bladder infection is beat.

My black and white two year-old cat, Trenta, peeking out of her carrier after a hard time with oral medications ad forced feeding today. Trenta is battling FIP and a bladder infection. Her kidneys are swollen, she is refusing food, and has a benign intestinal granuloma, likely also due to FIP.

She is still interested in checking things out, be it the hallway or the Dreaded Red Dot or new foods. She just won't eat, whicjh is part of her yo-yo-ing between good days and bad.

We've exhausted financial resources outside of Go Fund Me in order to get her more tests, vet evaluations, and medications, along with supplies and enticing food for her at-home care. Today was the first full day of trying to get prescription supportive food into her and it was kind of rough. She's very, very resistant to oral medications, and doubly so to syringe feedings. I can't blame her. Oddly enough, she is very cooperative when being administered subcutaneous fluids.

Here she is sulking under the couch instead of sitting in her little Hobbit hutch by the space heater. Hopefully tomorrow will go more smoothly for the feedings. At least she's had her full compliment of medications and a healthy dose of potassium.

Pictured is my black-and-white two year-old cat, Trenta. She is battling kidney distress and an intestinal granuloma from either lymphoma or Feline Infectious Peritonitis. I am giving her at-home care hoping that it is indeed FIP. That includes medications for FIP as well as antibiotics for a bladder infections, antibiotics for her conjunctivitis, anti-nausea medication, an appetite stimulant, potassium supplements, and subcutaneous fluid injections. She's not eating, so I've been adding watered Churru and Tiki Mousse to her oral medications via syringe.

To me, she seems to be rallying, re-engaging in some of her routine behaviors, exploring, chasing a laser pointer however briefly, scratching, and walking under my legs, albeit much more slowly. But a week ago she was just getting up out of her carrier to drink water from the fountain. Often she sat for hours in the shower stall. Now she has barely visited it, preferring interaction with me, her sister, and her brother.

Tomorrow, 11-11-2025, she has her first post-ER evaluation. It's been seven days. If this lack of eating shows no road to return for her, despite these gains, I may have to consider saying goodbye to her. This evaluation is crucial, and the contributors to her Go Fund Me have made that possible. Her hospitalizations have drained the resources, so it's very, very important. If you would like to please share her Go Fund Me, especially given that she may be still be fighting and receiving her FIP medications, I would appreciate it. My cat Trenta, a very sick black and white two year-old female. She's been looking more alert last night and today. Trenta is suffering from FIP and I am giving her treatment and supportive care at home because the extraordinary high costs of care. Around here, only veterinary emergency hospitals now keep cats overnight or housed for supportive care. Her two trips to the hospital while they performed their endlessly delayed tests wiped out our resources.
