Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

I was same, and conscious that it’s the only Amateur Radio related magazine on the high st shelves…

020

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

I’ve had to remind many over the years. If you don’t know or ask, deserves an answer…knowledge is for sharing.

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

Now starts the next chapter, enjoy all.

020

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 28/03/2026

010

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

I’ve not used one but have a G90 that’s used as a back up for main rig, played well borrowed a 5105 years back for a few days, TBH S/H xiegu make a lot of sense for out and about.

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

Eventually obtained a kx2 at a price I was happy with, wanted the small form factor, sold the kx3 for more than I paid for it. But agree very thin on the ground.

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 22/02/2026

Today we had the club junk sale, some really nice bits and bobs, at great prices, many having clear outs of old unused stuff, was I tempted!! err yes…😁 QRP sotabeams ATU, RTL SDR dongle and a 5M vertical Ali pole less than a tenner, and indulged for a little more in a fine SWR, Power meter..

090

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 22/02/2026

Some this way have as well Simon, I’ve a RX buried in god knows where..but dirt cheap to kit up on..

010

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 22/02/2026

Finally got the old 24cm FM ATV TX stuff out of storage, only 20 years or so 😁 About 10w I guess to a old 20el quad loop with some equally old cable, P5 to a station 10mins away then around P3 20 miles, a big interest in mode locally again.

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 10/02/2026

Will do…chat regularly.

010

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

Oooh now that looks slick George and as I’ve finally reached the holy grail and obtained a kx2 it might spur me on to learn, finally, after many trials and tribulations, CW, add me to the list of interest please.

120

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 02/01/2026

Receive only today…transmitter needs some work on it..

010

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 02/01/2026

Some interest in ATV this way, so wrapped up warm, got 3cm stuff out of mothballs and went out portable to see if still worked on RX…Bingo, last used 20y ago..know thing have moved on to digital, but this analogue was rather pleasing..now to improve and update stuff.

ONBOTA Website had a revamp, has UKBOTA did earlier been fun hunting all last few weeks. Pile ups have been manic my ears wouldn’t cope with all that, always another day.

000

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 14/12/2025

A good call and addition IMHO…

000

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 14/12/2025

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 14/12/2025

Would appreciate some feedback on the NCDXF beacon network, recent conversations, some had not heard of it, one said very old technology, personally I don’t think it is, it’s long established no need to log on anywhere and often listen as an indicator of propagation, your thoughts guys.

Dipped me toes into DATV, 70cm, impressive results, SDRangel initially then SDRtelevision a big improvement on decodes, local station just using vert colinear on 1w 10mile…then other further afield on beam.

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

Bunkers website is IMHO one of the best radio related source going at the moment, so much work gone into providing all.

010

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

Need to get out and activate, loads this way, but have lots going on at moment…BOTA has grown, as I knew it would a few years back alongside POTA, combined radio and outdoors..great combination.

110

Graham G8NWC @g8nwc.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

All good in the flatlands, just to hunt a few bunkers playing with 70cm DATV and Xmas shopping. Have a great day Simon

was more novelty value, but compromised antennas are useless with QRP, still need to satisfy the curiosity of where and if still have 😁
