Ended up with 9 unique images and a certificate

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 06/10/2026

Working from home today and there just happens to be some #SSTV from the #ISS. Here's a couple I didn't get over the weekend

030

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 04/10/2026

Last pass of the day, and realistically with work commitments likely to be the last pass of this activity period At only 20 degrees maximum elevation there wasn't going to be much but I managed a new image, allbeit one with a lot of interference

020

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 04/10/2026

The last four passes over my QTH have resulted in: 09:46 UTC (14deg) 2/12 (partial with QRM/N) 11:21 UTC (51deg) 2/12, 3/12, 4/12 (all mainly good) 12:57 UTC (85deg) 2/12 (with QRM/N), 4/12 (partial) 14:34 (65deg) 3/12 (partial), 4/12 (with QRM/N), 5/12 (QRM/N but end of pass)

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 04/10/2026

Nice high angle pass but essentially a set of duplicate images and not as good as the previous pass either

030

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 04/10/2026

I think I'm beginning to get the new setup dialled in Undoubtedly helped that this was a 51 degree pass but managed to get 3 decent decodes after seitching the antenna to something less sophisticated

020

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 04/10/2026

First Sunday pass, low angle only 14 degrees max but still managed one decode. Might have got a second but interference kept causing the QSSTV lock to abort and start a new segment none of which were large enough to trigger an autosave

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 03/10/2026

It's #ISS #SSTV season I've been trying out a new setup which had a few teething problems Now I'm using an SDR Play RSP1A with SDR++ with Doppler correction by GPredict. Decoding by QSSTV under Debian Trixie I tried GQRX on the previous pass but had audio problems so switched to SDR++

3/3 The next train was the 19:51 GWR to Cardiff, a three carriage local train A delay at Taunton meant arrival at Nalsea & Backwell at 21:16, 1 minutes later than planned and 30 minutes later than I would have got in on the 19:35 Bonus, it was cooler for the walk home but it was a very long day

010

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 19/06/2026

I was sitting in a railway station With a ticket for my destination When we left 35 minutes late I sense a delay-repay claim coming on

Plan B: When you're "wheels up" we'll be at the 1st waypoint fuelling no. 1 son for his gruelling day in retail. It's something of a blackspot for handheld coverage; it may be best to use BC on your first leg? Once we've RV'd then either simplex convoy freq on 433.525 or WR when south of Clevedon.

Lucky, we've been on the "we're building in this area in the next year" status for a while now, feels like longer than a year since I first saw this but maybe not, or maybe a year is different on Openreach's calendars

Ummm..... Yes, on balance I think we do consider this to be a tad adventurous and logistically challenging, yes "challenging" is very descriptive in this context. This, on the other hand, would be quite a talking point hanging from the ceiling in the louge. It's that or the full size rocket

#GPredict indicates that there is one further #ISS pass over my QTH this evening but it will be a very low angle so unlikely to be that successful On the last pass at 1620 UTC I managed this decode, not as good as the previous 2 passes but still identifiable

Andy Jenner G7KNA BEng CEng MICE @g7kna.co.uk · 04/10/2025

Another pass in the Series 29 #SSTV from the #ISS and a single good image from the 14:40 UTC pass over my QTH
