UK & Ireland Energy Monitor A new release tonight for my energy and local environment monitor. UK & Ireland Grid Monitor v2026.10.14.3 Changes since the last release: (v2026.09.30.3). Note that interim versions were not released. Powercuts map and alerting:

Up to 10 postcodes can be monitored directly for powercuts.

Environment Agency, Open Meteo and Open Weather data drives the weather "nowcast". Expect up to 89% accuracy!

Corrections were made to the power cuts monitoring to ensure that restored cuts are correctly removed.

Space Weather The first CME and geomagnetic storm hit this morning at around 07h UT (09 Oct). Sub-storms followed causing auroras at high-latitudes. NOAA has downgraded the storm watch for 09 Oct to G1 from G2 and added a G1 watch on 10 Oct. They have a G2 watch in effect for 11 Oct.
