My wife has just walked in and presented me with this. I love it.

Ok, I turn to the power of this medium to seek a solution for an antenna issue. Looking for a way to stand the mid section of a EFHW antenna away from my mast. Share your thoughts either way me please.

Well I showed the wife this picture of a Hexbeam and explained that’s what’s going on the new mast rather than a big ugly yagi. I think she was convinced. I’m still alive so I might have gotten away with it.

Anybody in the UK looking for QSL Card verification stamps, go check out PTS and create a cheap custom version. Great service.

That's going in the shack next to the QO-100 transverter

I'm sorry but someone in the UK broadcasting network needs sacking. It's September!!!!

This is rapidly becoming the most used piece of kit on my shack. Bloody sharp knife!

Today, I will be mostly playing wireless.

Finally I got around to sorting things out under my desk.

With the nights drawing in I've had to light up the mast!!!!

No radio today, back to the day job.

Keith - G0FEA @g0fea.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

The last pass of SO-50 was crazy. Sounded like a jumble sale.

It would appear that the mystery hole in my garden is being filled with concrete and rebar. I cannot believe someone has put a metal sleeve for an antenna mast smack bang on the centre. When I find out who did this.. I'm going to shake their hand!

Sat listening to HubNet only to hear a guy in Lancashire on a Chinese handie giving a made up 8 digest call sign oblivious that he's on amateur bands. Worse part operators talking to him.

Good call to replace the mast pulleys while it's down.

I've had this radio for a while and never tried terminal mode. The learning begins.

Checked my ic-9700 against the Leo Bodnar injection board and GPSDO lock. Spot on

My wife said “you don’t mind if I got to Sarahs (our eldest) tonight?”. Of course not. 10 minutes after she left I’ve ordered my curry.

First I find someone has dug a big hole in my garden, now someone has delivered some steel rebar to my house. The only thing I can think to resolve this is to put the rebar in the hole then fill it with concrete. Best to be safe. Thoughts?

As an academic who specialises in business and finance I am trying to get my head round Donald Trumps promise of giving $5,000 to all Americans if the Republicans win the mid-terms. U.S. population: about 349 million, So the cost would be approximately $1.745 trillion.

I’ve just looked in the garden and see a large hole has appeared. Looks dangerous, must fill it with concrete to make it safe. Maybe add some supporting metalwork.

Handing round some points on the 144MHz contest. Takes me back to when I started. A new FT290R and a 9 elle Tonna on the side of my parents home, working stations from my bedroom.

Anyone looking to get into ESSB? A fully functional rack mounted system, wired and ready to go. It's going on eBay tomorrow.

Forget the Kenwood TM-D750E Digital Dual Band Mobile Transceiver, I want this!

It's that time of year that my inbox is packed with emails from publishers looking for me to spend my budget.

Yes, found suppler of large size satellite dishes just up the road from me. What a result.

Keith - G0FEA @g0fea.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Today's question: what has been delivered today, to the G0FEA house?

580

Keith - G0FEA @g0fea.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Did not realize it's so difficult to buy a satellite dish over 90cm. Looking for 110 or 120cm that I don't have to take out a second mortgage for.

@jonathancreaser.bsky.social am I correct that you use an Icom-9700 on QO-100? If so what setup.

Keith - G0FEA @g0fea.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

What a blast from the past. Clearing out cupboards and found these Jems from 1980s when I first got my license and was studying for the Morse test. Anybody want them?

Keith - G0FEA @g0fea.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Blimey, concrete is expensive. This antenna project is no cheap feat.

Never really been someone who chases awards, but just seen I am 16 states short from working them all. Worked 119 countries out of 193. Things you learn! 😀
