Banning trade with illegal settlements is a crucial and overdue step to uphold intl law and safeguard the human rights of Palestinians. Greens have long fought for this measure and strongly welcome it - we will keep pushing for urgent implementation and further action on the genocide in Gaza.

Ed Miliband’s statement on Israel is only a first step. We need to go further: a full ban on goods, services & investment. Labour is still shamefully refusing to recognise the Gaza genocide. We must have a full arms embargo, full sanctions & an end to military collaboration.

Today the UK government announced sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank. A critical and overdue step that the Green Party has long fought for. However, the government must go further and introduce an arms embargo, wide-ranging sanctions and end military and intelligence cooperation.

A few weeks ago, Wes Streeting said there were "serious and substantial allegations of war crimes" in Gaza. Now he is Defence Secretary. He must impose a full arms embargo on Israel and end Britain's complicity in the genocide.
