I guess I will give this up. It was a dream of mine to be a martial arts instructor, but its time to aknowledge my failure to attract students

My newest set up on the heavy bag. It’s still got room for improvement, but this is a step up from my last attempt #Hema #dummy #punchingbag #pell

What even is this insect on the elderberry? It’s tiny and I think trying to look like a bee or wasp

How come I never heard of these guys? Stupid alogrithm! Big Stick Combat is based in Arnis and Escrima, yet their take in the baseball bat is eerily similar to mine. I’ll be following them youtu.be/7F_M5VHQEzg?...

Good morning! Protect Trans Kids 💚 Be Kind To Trans People 💚

screencap from the Harley Quinn show where Alysia Yeoh is driving a car and saying "It really helped me while I was transitioning"

comic panel of Alysia Yeoh with a defiant and happy look on her face

she's wearing a sexy looking black leather jacket (with amazing yellow shoulder and sleeve accents), holding a thin bat-style eye mask in one hand and a wooden baseball bat with the trans flag painted on it in the other, while saying:

"Please. I'm a trans woman in Gotham. OF COURSE I have a weapon."

Testing out my improvised flail. Clipped my hand once, just getting a feel for where my grip can go. I have not done much flail work, so please critique my flailings #HEMA #PHM #martialarts

Paulus Kal’s dagger is highly underrated. Having trained in Apache knife, Redfeather family tradition, I see so much more practical utility in the first few plays than in virtually any other European manual #HEMA #knife #selfdefense #martialarts

Out of the three shillelagh styles still extant, I find the most application for the bat in Antrim - the single handed grip with one third of the length below the hand for high parries just flows so easily from Mair peasant staff (two handed) grips #HEMA #selfdefense #bata #club

Skallagrim had a great take on bat combat… combat bat… That I about 90+% agree with. He was only working with PHM and logical inference, but hit on some good beats. If he had read Rothstein and trained Irish bata, it could have been even better #HEMA #martialarts #peasant #selfdefense #club

The fyrd was a military force of commoners in medieval English kingdoms, akin to the National Guard of today. All able bodied were expected to train a minimal amount and be ready to fight in defense of their homes

Before Germany was a unified country, peasants revolted against feudalism. The Keulen, or two handed club, was one of the weapons most available to the poorest “German” peasants of the 1500’s. It’s method of use was recorded and passed down. It was revived in the 1800’s for self defense and exercise
