Someone described their Star Trek: Deep Space Nine pun to me, and I was compelled to throw together this silly edit at 4:30am: Gull Dukat.
An image edited to superimpose the head of a seagull onto the humanoid torso of a Cardassian holding a baseball.

This is meant to convey "Gull Dukat": a play on "gull", as in the bird, and "Gul Dukat", the character from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Partway through making this, I also decided to make the track "symmetrical" in terms of the time signatures it transitions through and the duration of each section. I doubt this actually makes it better, but I wanted to do it anyway.
A screenshot of FL Studio 2025 showing all of the patterns that make up the track. The patterns are organised into four channels corresponding to two square wave channels, a triangle wave channel, and a noise channel.

The time signatures go from 5/4 to 6/4 to 4/4, then back to 6/4 and 5/4, with the durations being symmetrical across the middle of the track.

For those who missed it, here's a screenshot of Blender showing all the bones that make up the armature for this model. I had to manually make half of the hair bones. (Thankfully, they could be symmetrised across the midline.) They are necessary for the jiggle bones that animate the hair!
A cropped screenshot from Blender 5.0 (the 3D modelling program used to create the mesh for the Eyemother model). It's a top-down view of the model in a T-pose, with the armature (skeleton, made up of bones) highlighted in orange. Every bone has a text label showing its name.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday for the Eyemother's first appearance. I appreciate all the kind words and enthusiasm for this... weird thing that I poured a lot of work into! Despite some scuff, I still had a lovely evening. <3
A large close-up of the new Eyemother avatar, with a zoomed-out view floating in front of it (outlined in mint green).

She has a floating humanoid head (with a single large eye, pointed ears, and lips, but no nose), two floating hands (in brown leather mittens with metal vambraces), and many strands of electric pink hair billowing behind her.

Although she has no actual torso, the head floats above a metal breastplate, ornate metal pauldrons, and a long cloak with a standing collar. The cloak is dark purple on the outside, with mint green stars glittering on its dark pink inner lining. A brown leather belt with a prismatic cabochon brooch cinches the cloak where her neck would be.

These pieces of clothing and armour are purely decorative. Despite "evolving" from an eyebeast, Fyda is still, essentially, a floating head with floating hands and lots of hair.

Finally, after three weeks of work on a new avatar and one week of work on a new background, everything is now in place. A new form is arriving this week.

And then I deleted the app.

This is the kind of intrusive thought I get when playing video games (in this case, Hollow Knight: Silksong). Here I am, hours later, following through:

For reference, this is how Mario Is Missing! depicts the Louvre.
A screenshot from Mario Is Missing!, released in 1993 for MS-DOS. An area enclosed by yellow walls with blue windows, green trim, and magenta roofs contains a giant red pyramid bearing the face of the Mona Lisa on its front. Below this illustration, a caption reads: "The Louvre".

I'm glad I decided to revisit Mario is Missing! for DOS. It has been delightfully cursed. This time around, I discovered that Luigi can take a photo at each of the historical sites. I was so tickled by the game's rendition of the Louvre that I had to make this...

I'm back home just in time for the Twitch 2025 recaps. Phew! This was my 3rd year of streaming. Thank you for all of the support. This has been an exhausting year, and I am grateful for all the company, encouragement, and distraction while I tried to play some video games.

A regular streaming schedule has been unfeasible, so I am trying something new: putting two possible times on the schedule, setting alarms for both, and seeing which one I'm awake enough to stream at. If this ridiculous idea actually works, it may become the daily(ish) norm for the next 3 weeks.
A Schedule page for a Twitch stream. Two streams are listed on the schedule:
- "Stream A, if I'm awake enough. (Mutually exclusive with Stream B.)" June 2, 23:00 – 02:00 GMT+8
- "Stream B, if I'm awake enough. (Mutually exclusive with Stream A.)" June 3, 05:00 – 08:00 GMT+8

Since I am still a person who posts photos of plushies... dang it, this Jolteon was too perfect.
A photo of a computer desk setup (keyboard, monitor, and hand-tracker visible, but not the focus), with an airport shopping bag on the left. On the right is a fluffy, bright yellow plushie of the Pokémon Jolteon, confidently resting its forepaws on the keyboard while smiling (or smirking?).

Tonight, after about a month of work, I have completed my preparations for a new set of 3D animated backgrounds for my streaming setup. While I don't expect a perfect deployment, the stakes are low (this has always only been a personal project) and I'm just glad it's done. #Blender #3dart
A 3D illustration of an eyebeast (eyeball creature with floating mitten hands). The eyebeast has a green eye and green hands, and it is wearing a brown felt bowler hat. It is sitting at a table inside a restaurant. There is a martini glass on the table in front of it, containing a blue drink.

Through the window next to it, a fantastical power generator building can be seen nearby, as well as a vast ocean with colourful floating objects.

The image has a vignette effect applied to it. Large text, similar to that found on a poster or postcard, reads: "Let's meet again in... The Eyelands".

You immediately reminded me of this creature I encountered in Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi.
A screenshot from Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi, showing the full-body portrait of a creature in a dungeon. The in-game narrative text describes the creature as follows: "A monster made up of old treasure chests floats in front of me."

I recently made a new set of backgrounds for my streaming overlay (using #blender, which I've been slowly learning over the past 2+ years). I only got the idea for these eyeguys partway through the process. They saved the project by adding some much-needed focal points and personality.
A 3D image created in Blender. It depicts a close-up of an eyeguy (small, bipedal eye-orb creature) standing on a floppy disk, with relaxed posture, looking into the distance. The floppy disk is half-inserted into a floppy drive on the front of a fictional all-in-one computer. The computer is red with light blue accents, with an embedded monitor in its upper half and built-in speakers below the floppy drive. Next to it is a small stack of two more floppy disks.A 3D image created in Blender. It depicts a close-up of an eyeguy (small, bipedal eye-orb creature). A white ceramic coffee cup and its dish are in the center of the scene, with the eyeguy perched on the edge of the dish. A shiny, reflective moka pot is to the right of the cup, while a couple of floppy disks are stacked to the left.

Since apparently I'm now a person who posts photos of plushies (?!), here's the 30 cm Koffing I picked up in Taipei, next to the Sitting Cuties (Pokémon Fit) Koffing. It was pretty challenging to fit Doctor Koffingsburg in my luggage, but he's here now and can hang out with Professor Koffington.
Two plushies of the Pokémon Koffing, one large (30 centimetres in diameter) and one pocket-sized. Per the Pokédex, Koffing is 0.6 metres tall, so even this large plushie is only half the actual size.

@clioaite.bsky.social I am super late with this because I was out of the country, but I finally got my Clio plush! She can hang out with Magnemite and bigger Magnemite.

2024 was my 2nd year of streaming, and I'm glad I could continue despite IRL setbacks which made that difficult. I am humbled that such thoughtful, friendly, and kind viewers chose to spend their time with me while I blundered and overthought my way through games old and new. Thank you.
