It's very hard to select a couple of images to share from our tour of the Highlands. I guess a decent option would be to illustrate the transition from glorious to dramatic. Enjoy.
The Cove at Salmon Landings, Strathy, Scotland, a deep ravine descencing to a small cove with a pier where long ago catches of wild salmon were landed. The ravine is steem and the higher parts are covered in bright green grass and heather. There is a wooden staircase to the bottom. The sea is calm and the sky is blue with some flat cloud cover. The road towards Applecross, not far from the start of the Bealach na Bà (the high pass), crosses over a lively, full stream on a stone bridge. The road climbs towards high hills the top of which is shrouded in low clouds. Everything is very green with moorish patches.

In 2014, I spotted and shot a similar scene in Tulamben, Bali. Only that time, it was the lizardfish eating whole a sand perch prey, also tail first. Here, the perch was only slightly smaller than the lizard, and I think the latter might have been having trouble swallowing it. No room.
A lizarfish shot looking straight into the camera, with an open mouth in which one ca see the head of a sand perch the lizardfish is eating.A lizarfish shot from a slightly lateral angle, with an open mouth in which one ca see the head of a sand perch the lizardfish is eating.

It’s been a Nr of times I get total rubbish info from Chrome AI. This time I wanted to research something from Disclosure Day I didn’t get. The AI came up with stuff that def. was NOT in the movie. I interrogated it and it replied I was right and it had “hallucinated” See below.

And there are many more examples of images I have taken while underwater that evoque outer space. This little shrimp on a coral, the white tips of the polyps against the dark mantle, really make me think of a tiny cosmonaut looking down on me from a starry sky.🦑
A small Thor amboinensis shrimp, orange body with blight white markings in its eyes, head, back and tail, sits against the dark backgound of a coral with white tipped tiny polyps resembling stars in a clear night sky.

Celebrating the worthy quest of our species into space these days, I always come back to this simple shot of a feather star on a bubble alga, because for some reason, I've always saw it as a kind of a cosmic image. (1 of 2 mini 🧵) Indonesia, 2010. 🦑
A little brittle star (Ophiura sp) sits on top of a bubble alga (Valonia ventricosa) whose surface reflects the strobe light in bright blue, resembling a sky dome. White calcareous scales on the help creating this resemblance. The brittle star has 6 arms and is creamy with light brown center and bands along the arms.

They're spectacular! How about another beautiful starry fish? This one is a dragonet from Indonesia, 2010. 🦑 We look up to the skies, and find a fascinating mirror of beauty deep down as well.
A starry dragonet sits calmly on a coral rock, seen laterally with the head pointing towards the right of the frame. The fish is red with white dotting resembling (vaguely) stars against a deep red sky. It is a close cousin of the mandarinfish and no less worth capturing, although catching these when mating is a lot more difficult than it is for their cousins!

Hello Skylings. A few days since my las UW pic, so for today, I chose one that had an unexpected delight in it. If you look carefully to the bottom right corner, these Maldivian anemonefishes have a clutch of eggs going. Never saw it until I processed the pic! 🦑 🌊 #UnderwaterPhotography #Nature
Two Maldives anemonefishes (Amphiprion nigripes) in their Heteractis magnifica anemone host. The anemone has a beautiful red stalk and the tentacles are bright green. The fishes are orange with a single vertical white band from top to bottom of their heads behind their eyes. There is a clutch of red eggs (like many red dots) on the coral rock in the bottom right of the frame.

OK, after bugs, back to the UW pics for a cooling effect in this heat. How about two threshers crossing paths, back when they still came to clearner wrasse at Monad Shoal? (Now they seem to prefer Kimud Shoal). More in Alt. Malapascua, Philippines, 2008. 🦑🌊 #UnderwaterPhotography #Naure #Sharks
Two thresher sharks swimming by each other at right angles. Although it is difficult to be certain, the proposed ID for these two is for 2 different species. The one below, swimming from left to right of the frame, could be Alopias pelagicus. The one above, swimming towards the camera, could be alopias superciliosus, by the shape of its head. Both sharks share the thresher´s extremely long caudal fin that defines these species. The sharks can only be shot with ambient light. Flash hurst them badly as they are deep dwelling species and only come up to visit cleaning stations. Hence the slightly blurry image.
