As the planet heats up and weather gets more extreme, a @nature.com paper shows a remarkably consistent media tic: - catastrophic effects always predicted at a fixed date, like 2050 - since 2000, effective climate action is always reported as 17 years off www.nature.com/articles/s41...
"Whether news presents climate change as something happening now or in the future impacts public risk perceptions and climate action. A recent study shows that, in US news, the timing of anticipated climate impacts has got closer but coordinated climate actions are consistently deferred to the future."

During the campaign, Gov. Abbott — who has now endorsed him — said French would "wreck" Texas oil and gas.

A celeb-backed data center in Utah would be the biggest on the planet, using more electricity than the rest of the state uses today — and spiking nighttime temps by 28 degrees. The project, sitting by the vanishing Great Salt Lake, needs as much water as 20,000 homes. futureheist.org/re/00902c04

But chemical companies fighting the rules like Chemours — which settled nearly $600 million over alleged PFAS pollution in North Carolina and faces trial next year over GenX — make a stronger argument: that the EPA exceeded its authority by touching PFAS at all.

After years of lobbying by chemical and fossil-fuel industries, Trump and RFK Jr. are weakening federal PFAS ("forever chemical") standards—especially for GenX, which easily enters water and damages the liver at very low doses.

Also, the second-fastest growing city in the country is just outside Houston, and it's surrounded by plugged wells. Which also go undisclosed, and which you ... really don't want to live on. www.kosu.org/fort-gibson-...

4/5 of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. are sprawling into the old Barnett Shale, where tens of millions of tons of oilfield waste was spread on farms and buried and pits. There are no maps of where this stuff is.
