2025 started with a winter writing session in Baltimore — the first sparks of the next album slowly beginning to take shape. The months that followed were spent deep in touring behind People Who Aren’t There Anymore.

We began 2024 with the release of our seventh album, People Who Aren’t There Anymore. After the long stretch from the release of ALAYA through the lost touring years, this was the first time in a while that an album could fully live its life in the world — release, tour, and connection.

We were lucky the weather held, though we had these dramatic, gloomy clouds rolling through. It was a long shoot — I think we wrapped around 2 or 3am. A highlight was climbing to the top of the lighthouse at night with the beam sweeping out over the ocean. #FutureIslands20

The Tower shoot, 2023. Filmed at the Oak Island Lighthouse in North Carolina, this was a pretty surreal day on set — and actually a lot of fun, since we got to spend so much time by the beach.
