Trump and DOGE accused federal civil servants of fraud (with no evidence). Meanwhile, they're halting enforcement of a foreign anti-bribery law, dropping criminal charges against Eric Adams, and pardoning a former governor who tried to sell Obama's Senate seat. Hello?

To hell with Trump and Musk. Our grandparents and great grandparents and half a billion Americans didn't die defeating fascism, just so that we could allow a felon-rapist mobster and an unelected racist billionaire bring it here without opposition. johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/its-time-t...

“It hasn't even been 24 hours and one of Trump's first actions was to rescind Biden's Executive Order 14084, titled ‘Promoting the Arts, the Humanities, and Museum and Library Services.’ 😡 Biden's E.O. broadly aimed to support the nation's creative and cultural economy…” -EveryLibrary

“We reaffirm our commitment to defending cartoonists & their right to create without fear. A society without the freedom to laugh, question, or criticize is no society at all.” Marking the Charlie Hebdo attack 10yrs on, with visuals from @anntelnaes.bsky.social cartoonistsrights.org/10th-anniver...
Extract from a longer cartion strip by Ann Telnaes (recently resigned from The Washington Post) concerning the decade since the terror attack at offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine, Paris on Jan. 7th 2015.

Under the caption “Some people think the solution is to limit what cartoonists may draw” a group of large, intimidating black-clad figures crowd over a small cartoonist at a drawing table. One bully points a finger and tells the cartoonist “Watch it.” while they sweat with a wide-eyed, scared expression.

“Families play an important role in helping children develop fluency in reading. Research has found that, for struggling or non-fluent readers in particular, parent-led reading interventions and support at home increase a student’s reading fluency.”

At the risk of reading too much into Bluesky’s success at the moment, I do think it’s a signal that people don’t want to be surrounded by bots and manipulated algorithms AI can only go so far. We want human connection.

“Suddenly book bans and other forms of censorship in schools and libraries are ascendant across the country, led by organized groups and politicians. Last year saw a record-breaking 1,269 efforts to censor books and resources nationwide, nearly twice as many as in 2021 (ALA),”

“Elon Musk made sure to design his version of Twitter to be an unpleasant, dull place. Why choose an awful room run by the worst guy you’ve ever met when there’s an alternative where cool people are hanging out, telling jokes, creating their own goofy lore, and engaging on issues they care about?”

When 2 girls couldn't reach powerful WWII enemies, they crafted a honey trap for others, leading too-willing Nazi soldiers into nearby woods with the promise of some "action." But the action they found guaranteed the soldiers never returned. THAT is resistance, or so my thesis research taught me.
