Nice! Thanks for the summary!

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 12/09/2026

How's the conf? Was very close to booking myself in but couldn't quite manage. Hoping it becomes a yearly thing!

Once again, another example of where removing the humans from the creation process has deep and nuanced consequences that can't easily be measured in our results-based society. The process is also important!

Fell in love with a German person! If there was any sort of lure it was the textilfrei swimming and sauna (clearly I'm not good with clothes)

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 21/08/2026

You are technically correct, of course. Just couldn't quite bring myself to name a knitted thing as a tank top. Those are for raves and the gym.

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 21/08/2026

tbh I had no idea what to call this odd knitted garment, it doesn't fall neatly into any category!

Was a great read! Always warms my heart to hear stories of bug nerds striving to uncover something everyone else has overlooked ❤️

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 28/07/2026

This is awesome!!! 💀 I'm always so impressed with your work

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 17/07/2026

Did you break it open? They don't seem too disturbed?

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 17/07/2026

Amazing photo. I learnt about these a few years ago but I'm yet to witness, could make for a cool micro pet 🤓

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 10/07/2026

@bsky.app's compression is even more horrible though 👹

These are so cool! The rabbit took me a moment to work out. I think the dot being eyes elsewhere confused me a bit

Commenting to follow, I'm curious now!

Moving to all digital ownership for our games/movies/books wouldn't be so bad if there were good laws around it. If you own a digital thing, you should have unrestricted access to the actual file and do what you want with it.

Amazing shot and what a beautiful mantis! I'm quite surprised by the maternal care, I always assumed Mantises lay the ootheca and forget about it.

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 11/06/2026

Exactly! I'm not on FB anymore, that's the only part I miss 🥲

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 09/06/2026

You're not the first one to request it 😅 I will get round to it...

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 08/06/2026

Glad you like it! The LEDs are pretty bright, but not overdriven or anything. I think I filmed this one in low light to help the effect on video but in all honesty all of these experiments look way better off camera

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 05/06/2026

Yeah it's a sad situation, probably just to sell more phones 🤪

000

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 04/06/2026

Is it wrong to say I find this comforting? Phones are done ✅

It might be that when the page doesn't scroll, it's ok for the number to change based on scroll wheel activity. When the page is scrolling that absolutely shouldn't also affect the number input. Unfortunately for magic mouse users, it's very easy to accidentally trigger a scroll event.

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 27/05/2026

Ah, so maybe there is a subtle difference in what I've experienced in the past. More of an issue with the magic mouse being overly sensitive 🙄

100

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 27/05/2026

Hasn't this been an issue for years? It's very noticeable with the Mac magic mouse, the tiniest stroke and the number goes into the stratosphere 😅

I share the same sceptical outlook on big tech and am sick of how much these guys are shoving AI in our faces but this is a misquote. He said humans aren't evolved to deal with this much change. It's a fair point. @ketanjoshi.co are you just engagement farming here? Misinformation always does well.

This is not a bee! It's a beefly (Bombyliidae)

He definitely deserves to have a whole genus named after him! You don't see that all too often

Join us in wishing a massive happy 100th birthday to the man who has inspired millions of people around the world to care about nature and look after our planet - the incredible Sir David Attenborough! 🎉

Whenever I find myself doom scrolling on the sofa I immediately realise I should be spelunking in Qud instead! Slop cure for sure, thanks for creating this masterpiece ❤️

In my case I needed some really wild stuff (e.g. drag and drop paragraphs between drop zones in the editor), so being able to create completely custom nodes that behave how I want has been a really powerful thing and very scalable.

The docs are definitely lacking (but improving!) and it certainly isn't the simplest option. It's more like a set of tools for building your own text editor from the ground up, rather than a library accommodating lots of common use cases.

A text editor framework that does things differently

If you need something truly custom, I can highly recommend Lexical. Been using it on a job that needs some crazy text editor features and I couldn't imagine anything better lexical.dev

The intersection of capitalism and technology is once again posing some big philosophical questions. Genuinely don't know how to feel about this one...

This is awesome and it looks like a neat little library 😎

Alex Kempton @funwithtriangles.net · 21/04/2026

I played it for the first time, years later in the 2000s, via emulation. Despite it already being a relic by then, me and my friend absolutely loved it as teenagers. Nice article, thanks!
