163. Resident Evil Village This is good. I can see why some would call it one of the best in the series. Had to use a couple mods to make the third person mode work like the other games but other than that I really enjoyed what was here. The baby sequence scared the piss out of me.

162. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Love when movies have such well made fight scenes with emotional storytelling that they could well be short films in and of themselves. There were no tigers in this movie.

161. The Hunchback of Notre Dame This is the most like a Broadway show I've seen a Disney film get. Kinda wish it wasn't such a tonal disaster (the gargoyle song while Paris burns, the slapstick during the action). When this movie locks in it goes crazy.

160. Resident Evil 3 (2020) I'd heard this was short but holy shit I wasn't expecting only 5 hours. I can see why fans of the original were disappointed. Going in without the context, I enjoyed this as a RE2.5 but not as a full sequel. I think Jill might be my favorite RE character so far.

159. Hell's Paradise (Season 2) Every time a show has pacing issues and ends on a cliffhanger I want to plunge my head through my desk. Weaker than S1 for sure, but it's *fine*.

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

158. Resident Evil 2 (2019) I think this game is at its best at the beginning when it's a zombie horror survival game in a dark police station and the moment the usual RE-isms show up (Tyrant, flesh creatures with huge eyes, boss fights in general), it loses me a little.

153. Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Waaay better than the last DLC and even the main game. Much more compelling story and bosses (even if some of them do get a bit too bullet-hell-y). Really opens up the customization for post-game stuff too.

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

152. The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn This is what happens when you give a bunch of film nerds a huge budget and access to new technology. They all made this movie for themselves and it really shows (affectionate).

100

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

151. Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred That was ridiculously short. They seriously charged people $40 at launch for this?

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

150. Diablo IV Broke this game over my knee so efficiently that I killed the final boss in less than 20 seconds. Most of that was taken up my phase transitions. This is a good thing.

145. Kirby and the Forgotten Land Kirby's formula translates super well into 3D, it's stunning it took them this long to do it. It's a fun time.

144. Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie I feel like I just read a passionate love letter to someone I don't know. You can tell this was made with pure unfiltered adoration for the medium.

143. Smallville (Season 8) Jimmy might be the character that suffers the most in this show.

100

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

142. Chernobyl (2019) Really good if you want to be both horrified and utterly enraged at the same time by the end of it. Probably could have done without the episode where they shot a load of dogs to death but it served it's purpose of upsetting the shit out of me.

138. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (100%) Any time I say that Galaxy 1 is my favorite, someone will always say "but 2 is better". I don't get it. It's good, but it does still feel like an expansion to the 1. The worlds are kinda just okay and the green stars are either boring or total dogshit to collect.

137. Project Reignition v1.0 This fixes most of the issues I have with Secret Rings (which were a lot) and turns it from one of the worst Sonic experiences to one on par with at least Colors I think. A good time, but incredibly easy now that the controls have been fixed.

136. Pikachu's Vacation My favorite genre of Pokemon media is just watching them be silly little shitheads to each other. I miss when we aired shorts before movies at theaters and also had them on physical media. We used to be a proper country.

135. Pokémon the Movie 2000 Half of this movie is just the legendary birds screaming at each other like Lemongrab. This was *fine* but I'm still waiting for these movies to actually get good.

132. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - Legacy Edition A perfectly acceptable 6/10 co-op game that proves the 'taking a shit is fun with friends' mantra. It's buggy, clunky, and not awfully satisfying but it's fun wailing on enemies with your mates.

131. Treasure Planet [R] I think Disney as a company deserved to rot the moment they sent this and Atlantis out to die they way they did. We used to make fucking *movies*, dawg.

100

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

130. Atlantis: The Lost Empire [R] This would have sold a billion dollars if you made the Atlantis people blue and made it in live action with CGI and also attached James Cameron as a director.

128. Sonic Project Hero Rewired This is the fangame that made me realise there's a huge gulf between what the fanbase wants and what I want from this franchise. I feel like a boomer playing this. It's too much, too flashy. But everyone else seems to like it, so this one has to be a me problem.

131

125. Super Mario Galaxy (100% + RA Mastery) I adore this game so much, if it weren't for SA1 existing it'd be my favorite platformer of all time easily. The RA set is fairly solid outside of a couple sicko challenges that only add to frustrate you, but that's par for the course on that website.

111

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

124. Now You See Me: Now You Don't Feels really weird for a relatively new franchise to already have a legacy sequel that tries to make Jesse fucking Eisenberg into a mentor figure at the old age of 42. Better than the second movie at least.

100

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

123. Now You See Me 2 Suffers from a lot of common problems that bad sequels do. Trying to up the stakes without really thinking about the repercussions of it, giving one of the cast an evil twin brother, we even have 'the main cast is shipped off somewhere and has to learn to work as a team'.

110

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

122. Big Walk This lives and dies on the group you're playing with and I was fortunate to play with one where we could understand each other even completely non-verbally. Really great vibes and wonderful for team building.

141

Kye's Media Journal @funkyetown.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

121. Smallville (Season 7) I'm convinced one of the writers went through a breakup because the way women are treated this season is fucking diabolical. Descent is an all-timer episode of television though. RIP Bozo.

100

120. Nirvanna the Band the Show I think I yelled "how the fuck did they get away with this?" at least once per episode.

118. Witch Hat Atelier (Season 1) Animation is great, and I adore the core concept behind the magic. I just wish it got more episodes so we could have fleshed out the world a little more.

100

116. Splatoon Raiders Nintendo fixed every issue I had with Salmon Run in 3 and also made it a super addicting 'number go up' game with the most seamless and engaging multiplayer system they've ever put in a game.

115. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie Featuring Ivan Ooze I'd call Ivan Ooze the best Toku villain of all time but I know Evolt would beat him to death with his bare hands.
