i’ve been doing this recipe since college back when I didn’t have a good beef place. it’s not the best beef you can get. but it’s good enough when you need a fix.

kinda i get a pound of shaved roast beef, season it with the cabinet (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, italian seasoning, the works). get a pot, roast some sliced peppers and garlic until fragrant. throw in some water, place your beef and simmer for 3-5 min til tender.

not a hot take: i wouldn’t miss carter hawkins if he left for greener pastures. think the cubs need to put new eyes on old problems. hoped hawkins’ time in CLE would help unearth some pitching. that hasn’t really come to fruition.

hot take o’clock: i thought craig counsell did a fine job managing this team. this isn’t to say he’s infallible. there’s a lotta stuff that I have questions about. but he is a steady hand and i think that’s valuable over 162. wish he was a little more bold and creative in certain situations.
