@johnromero.bsky.social my memory is shot, what was the shooter you referenced at play Glasgow during your talk? The one that was fixed that could be rebalanced etc.

Funk @funkoid.com · 06/07/2026

Well it's a naff photo of the result but bringing an old #Wonderswan Mono back from the dead was quite a relaxing time 😁

How're they taking to it @jeffchen.bsky.social ? I do wonder whether we've got it easier than say 15-20 years ago given the rise of pixel games and retro?

Great read from @tonywarriner.bsky.social if you haven't already partaken!

Funk @funkoid.com · 04/05/2026

One of the major things I suffer from is the flaw of "that's got to be perfect" so I'd end up spending my time sourcing the parts for a control panel that's bob on to the original so it feels the same - that'd be another year or two gon 😂 up to my neck in unfinished things 🤦🏻‍♂️

Funk @funkoid.com · 04/05/2026

If I were to do it at it'd probably be for the comedy value as I'm naff, I do need to start having a bash at things again though. Soon as my space is sorted out I'll maybe give the book a bit of a read and have a bash.

You're underplaying your position there your scores were great given you were sat next to some of the best from across Europe! ...always next year, think you'll go for it again?

What's the most cost effective way to pull together a selection of connectors and pre crimped wires for making jst gh, grove, jst sh, stemma Qt, qwiic cables? Thought it'd be cheap to pickup a selection of kits but they're a lot more expensive than I thought 😯 #IoT #drone #makers #electronics

Between work, baby and energy atm it's a battle to try and play anything, irritatingly I've fallen into that trap of doing nothing but buying games for the steam deck for the last 5 months instead of playing it 👀

Simon the Sorcerer: Origins complete on steamdeck. Great to hear Chris Barrie back and some nods to the original game, which is a sequel to this. Loved it all, only needed 3 hints, 2 of which I thought I'd already tried. Recommended for point & click adventure fans! #backlog2026

Interested to know if you were using the touchscreen! I keep forgetting it's there! Had a brief go of world of goo tonight which wasn't easy until I realised I could use the touch screen 🤦🏻‍♂️

Absolutely gutted about Catherine O'Hara, honestly one of my all time favourites, so many amazing lines and deliveries over the years.

Taken me far too long, but finally I have my work standing desk with all the wiring hidden and a single power cable going tidily down a 3D Printed magnetic drag chain/cable spine - already feels better walking in and seeing it.

Fire escape is great, can't remember the name of it but there's a chicken one with fruit machine style buttons on it, I've been loving that when I'm bury way

Was just looking at trailers of Still Wakes the Deep thinking "that looks awesome" then remembered I'd sadly never be man enough to play it. Still not done Alien Isolation and a host of others I have. Solutions on how to not be a wuss and play scary games please 😭 #TheChineseRoom #Lovecraftian

Well 5 month into being a dad I'm loving it, but have been absent from my usual haunts 😭 A health scare and trip to A&E Monday night means I've got my feet up resting this weekend, so time to catch up on goings on. Happy New year all!

Absolute blinder of a weekend at #CrashLive, thanks to the team for a great weekend. Seeing Malcolm Evans was a privilege and the Gremlin team. Big love to the @specnext.com team as well, huge momentum and buzz about the platform that's well deserved and already loved 👍

...then there is steam deck and linux gaming?! Microsoft took their eye off the ball, they messed up Xbox by starving fans of physical releases because of game pass, now they're trying to catch-up with Valve on hardware. I can't see it not being game over for it all.

000

Funk @funkoid.com · 08/10/2025

It's not really news and I know a lot more than many to give me a head start, but Microsoft and Windows are screwed. Installing Linux Mint on old, solid hardware, complete with howdy / win hello facial recognition... it's free, it just works and will do everything needed for most home users 🤷‍♂️

Managed to grab this from GOG on sale a moment ago, back to full price on steam 👍

Even now 30+ years on, she just reminds me of the moment my ol' man picked up my issue of Kerrrang!! She had won "the quote of the week" as they called it. Hearing him repeat her words which were "I want a man who will let me pee in his belly button" will forever haunt me.

Just heard that Billy from #TheGameChasers is in ER with a brain tumour, has genuinely knocked me sideways. Him and the gang have brought so much laughter into the world it's hard to see someone get kicked so hard by life. No matter who you are and what you're going through, stay strong. #retro
