Nomoto comes out of the kink closet

Nomoto: Kasuga, I've been meaning to tell you something...
Kasuga: Sure.
[Nomoto prepares her next line with a tight smile]
Nomoto: Have you ever heard of something called..."feederism?"

The cake...was tasty~ 😋 I have to be difficult, though. I love marble cake. Housemate tried making it for the first time, and, while it didn't come out as proper marble, the cake was still tasty 🎂 (See reply for bonus pic and stories from Leigh)

Cake with chocolate frosting and "Happy birthday [Nari]!" written in red frosting. The corn cob holders were there to raise the cling wrap above the cake so the frosting wouldn't get stuck on it

Emi recently performed as part of the band backing BLUEGOATS! First time for her! This is one of those "whole audience" photos that some performers do. I cropped it to Emi so we can all enjoy her specifically 🥰

I feel like I need to know more... For example, "romantic" can mean anything! Especially if the Ai Otsuka song Nomoto picked to sing out of the blue is anything to go by... (See reply for repost) #askfunari

For my bday, you can... 🖼️ Check the #funariart tag. Share with friends! 📖 Read my fics (archiveofourown.org/users/Funako...) I got a lot! Leave a kudo or write a comment! 😗 Tell me what your favorite Nari-ism is (a moment, theme I cover, etc) Any of these will make my day, for sure~

Emi and Manami, dressed as Kasuga and Nomoto, pose with the gigantic omurice plate used for a quick scene in Episode 2 of the drama. It was a behind-the-scenes pic used in official PR

I would love to make something physical to show my love for Manami and Emi's special bond. I'm considering an old gift offer idea from a friend again lol ...but what's something *I* could make? Hmm... #rpf (not really but I'm being courteous for those that don't wanna hear me blab!)

My dad is doing alright so far, by the way, so there's also that good news Nah...the one bad thing to happen today was waking up (and still dealing) with a blocked ear (swooshy noises) and balance issues 🙃 I can handle it, just been annoying all day

Funari @funakounasoul.bsky.social · 10h

Whatcha mean, Anon? I'm not sure I understand the question. I think only Rina Sawayama is specifically used in the main story The song in Season 1 was composed by the OST composer, Goro Ito, back in the late 2010s, so that's probably why that's there lol (Cont) #askfunari

Anon asks, "Do you have any opinions on tsukutabe music tastes besides Rina?"

Now, I already had a slice and a free can of Sprite on my 15 min break earlier, so don't let my plate deceive you! There's like....6 pies to choose from and bowls of various snacks and fruits. Drinks too, but now it's just water. I got my fave just in time lmao Happy birthday to me~

The lady on the left already looks as comparatively tall as Emi (to Manami), all one would have to do is redo the hair on the lady on the right (or give her a bigger cap to hide the long hair. Manami USUALLY ties hers up when casual) and paint the dog to look like one of her mom's poodles...lol

D'awww yes! Yes, we need more appreciation for ALL women! I am just one voice and can only show so much...but I also support those that cover other aspects of the women spectrum Women is love 🫶🏽 #askfunari

Anon says, "I appreciate your commitment to drawing non-traditional lesbians! We need more big women and older women and brawnier women loving each other :3"

"You're only as old as you feel." Sure, I have the aches and tiredness of physical aging, but I don't feel like I'm getting closer to 40 today, mentally. Still young and silly! But thoughtful. More insightful. Happy birthday to me~ I'm 38! Just gonna keep floating on by, though~ 🎈

The Nari lazily floats on by on a red balloon (red is her fave color despite the green signatures. Long story lol) She's flopped on the balloon all lazy-like. She's also blowing on a party horn

"Happy birthday to me~"

She cute I like how her friend had to pull her down to her level...as if Emi needed to be convinced to bend down lol (that's what she does for pics in general!) 😆

Emi and an old friend she reunited with, posing together with peace signs after a theatrical show with the friend. The friend's peace sign arm has a hold of Emi's free hand, making it look like she's pulling the taller woman down

RP> While not THE reason for my shift in thinking "Imma draw what I want," the FA stuff reminds me why I decided to go that route You're not gonna satisfy everyone in the world. Just make stuff. The folks that love your thinking will come to you And, also: "Don't like, don't interact"

FA being told by advertisers that the most mundane of art is just too risqué to work with should be a good indicator why trying making your fandom squeaky clean to appease people, who will never be happy, is a shitty idea

"Turn into Dramaverse" series 6: Yako! Suggested by @battypoison.bsky.social I don't think I've ever truly drawn the drama version of Yako in a "proper" drawing like this before. Behold! lol 😁

Yako dons a hat to cover the sun as she and the gals partake in some late spring trout fishing

The original panel. I will add, though, that I did fix the spelling on her little button/patch thing there. I do cut people slack if English isn't their first language, but for my own pic, I couldn't help it. I had to fix the spelling lol

⚠️Tw: body horror (mild, but still) ⚠️ . . . "Turn into Dramaverse" series 5: Nomoto's Nightmare Fuel Requested by a fan on Twt Managed to honor the whole page! I'm surprised at how horrifying this turned. It's fitting this piece was finished just as Spooky Month began lol #tsukutabe #funariart

Nomoto reads horrible, lesbophobic comments, feeling uncomfortable, tense...sweating a little. As the comments keep coming through her scrolling, she gets sweatier and sweatier, seemingly melting from the horrors. Soon she becomes a giant pile of dough as the hate melts her. In the background, you can see a large rolling pin about to descend and roll Nomoto back into something "socially acceptable."

"Turn into Dramaverse" series 4: A Good Home Suggested by @kateulator.party Drama!Kasuga isn't as forward as her comic self, huh? But maybe she'll open up more eventually~ #tsukutabe #yuri #funariart

After they have a short talk about it, Nomoto admits to Kasuga this seems to be the apartment she can see them living in. Kasuga then takes Nomoto's hand to voice her agreement (different from the actual drama because Kasuga there only verbally agreed and nodded her head. No physical contact was made)

"Turn into Dramaverse" series 2: Just a little extra reaction to that first hug. The relaxing, euphoric sensation.... Suggested by a follower on Twt #tsukutabe #yuri #funariart

Nomoto sighs euphorically as she settles into the hug. I went with a more subtle facial reaction. Manami Higa may have a rubber face, but she doesn't exaggerate if it's not necessary, and the scene in the drama was definitely more on the serious side of things. Gentle and warm, but serious.

"Turn into Dramaverse" series 1: She's digging in (but it's a meal we didn't see in the drama) Suggested by @kateulator.party #tsukutabe #food #funariart

Kasuga eats a fruit sandwich. She says "itadakimasu" then shoves the sandwich down her gullet.

The original manga panels. Itadakimasu is localized as "Down the hatch" here, but I chose the og because this is being shared where Japanese fans are, and...may as well keep it simple.

Kasuga eats it in one bite here. I imagine the drama version needs two.

You'd think the semi-body horror pic would be the most challenging re-draw, but it's actually drawing a character I've SELDOM drawn (and haven't actually drawn with significant effort when I did) that is the true challenge
