Went to Tokushima’s 阿波踊りon Friday. There were too few free seats available for the parade on the main road. It made me feel guilty for observing from the seats, so after about an hour I gave my seat up for some others to observe instead. The space was too crowded 笑

The crowds were very compact in the festival space, I felt bad for the kids too old to be carried on their parents’ shoulders but too short to see anything in the crowd. They were mostly shuffled in tandem with their parents from place to place.

The four PokéFuta of Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. I bookended my trip to Osaka this past weekend with a visit to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical District where the first three manhole covers were on Friday, and a visit to the Washuzan Lookout point near the Kojima Interchange on Sunday night.

Bought a sewing machine, and my first project was making new covers for this chair, because the fake red leather was so uncomfortable in the summer months. Not perfect, but I made it myself and I’m super happy. Even managed to salvage the leather on the back cushion.

Just got my oil changed from my local mechanic and he washed my dirty car for free (超サービス). ¥2,500, way cheaper than the Autobacs or Yellow Hat would cost. Looks brand new.

The three Pokémon manhole covers of Saga City, Japan. All accessible within a few blocks of each other. I visited during my roadtrip to Northern Kyushu. I also stopped at an excellent onsen in the city, which I made use of before sleeping in the car at a roadside station.

In the van overnight on my trip down the Shikoku Island coast. My inflatable pillow seems to have a leak but otherwise I’m all good.

I bought a utility vest at a secondhand shop because I wanted to look like the fashionable Japanese guys I see here. I ended up looking like a dad trying to get my kids to come with me on a fishing trip. I laughed when I learned that the vest also zips up into a tote bag.

Visiting family in the USA. My father and sister work at the Kennedy Space Center and together we watched Artemis II launch in the yard of my parent’s house. We weren’t expecting it to be so far behind the other house, usually the rockets launch from launchpad 39B which is further south.

Been visiting family in Florida and we went to Universal Studios Orlando: here are some pictures from that.

The entryway for universal parks, Epic universe. It’s a terrible Chudjak type of name but I liked the park nonetheless.
