Amazing video and fully represents the feeling of 8 hours on transit is, especially when you are in a rush I did a full san diego county rail speedrun and it was also hell. Was a while ago

Lots of great small changes, 992 ending at 4th and Broadway is a bit annoying but is what it is. 929 should probably keep serving central downtown cause it is a major commuter route ngl

Thanks to a series YIMBY reforms—and high-quality administration—in San Diego, the city has been in the midst of a building boom, even as construction has plummeted elsewhere. The result? Rents are down six months in a row. www.sandiegouniontribune.com/2025/12/17/s...

San Diego rents have fallen for 6 months. Should you ask your landlord for a deal?
San Diego rents are down 0.3% year-over-year to an average $2,520 per month.

Small changes but do represent a scale back of service. Small savings from mts where it makes sense That segment if the 120 is interlined largely with route 3 That segment of the 12 ends at city college, so duplicates the trolley I expect more of these small changes as they need to save till 2028

This took a while but is nearly done, so we published it. The Sprinter Corridor and Solana Beach are next on the map. So stay tuned for north county and the opt in delays.

Look at san diego, we have actually allowed construction and we have it. Our housing market is almost as expensive as the bay area and just above LA. We have housing going up all over urban san diego and even some more suburban areas. Its great to see. Got 20+ story projects outside downtown

Oh 1000% National city or chula vista would both work, amtrak was planning a yard in Barrio Logan on bnsf land but that fell thru. Nctd has said national city in the past but who knows

The ROW goes all the way to IB, its right next to the 8th street trolley station, and runs thru the chula vista bayfront redevelopment. Taking it atleast ro chula vista would be a slam dunk project. And it could feesibly go to san ysidro from there. Expensive but cheeper than an entirely new line

Got a new camera lense, a smc takumar 120 f2.8 Here's some pictures I took with it from a rooftop downtown. Does great in low light conditions. It is zoomed in enough to get tight shots but not so zoomed in its unusable unless you are a mile away.

One thing I do think would make more people happy would be smaller taller projects, which single stair can do. Would be really nice

There's legit a historic 6 or 7 story building in the neighborhood Tallest structure there till The Minn finishes up this year. Is the 1920s apartment too dense?!?!

Fumo_And_Transit_San_Diego @fumoandtransitsd.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
Agreed, but we already have plenty of hilly walkable neighborhoods in this city. Look at Cortez Hill, Bankers Hill, Golden Hill, and more. The issue is the lack of pedestrian connections across lots. Nothing is pedestrian scale and that is easily fixed one development at a time

Fumo_And_Transit_San_Diego @fumoandtransitsd.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
I do think we need to make incentives for jobs to be in downtown and south bay 100% Also with land value in Sorrento and the high demand for residential, a street redesign may be a battle but infill residential isnt
010
Fumo_And_Transit_San_Diego @fumoandtransitsd.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
Also, National City did a study to see if they could get more housing without displacement. One tool they found is reducing setbacks & allowing narrow residential buildings in the former setback, which, combined with infill on parking lots and mixed use, could do a ton to make a denser neighborhood

Fumo_And_Transit_San_Diego @fumoandtransitsd.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
I think changing these highway like streets into parkway like Brooklyn has could be a model, local acess, seperates fast traffic from pedestrians, and lots of traffic lights. Reducing the number of lanes is so damn important but so is good transit. Which is why the purple line is important

I think we should do infill housing in both so people have the option to live near work. While they currently dont. Utc im hopeful can be changed. Sorrento not as most but need to fix it one way or another

This very good video had inadvertently radicalized me against sorrento valley and UTC This is a good project but these places also seem to be intentionally anti urban and we should instead focus on discouraging further development there and build up downtown instead youtu.be/JxfgPJTDANc?...

We 100% need more "missing middle" housing projects too, but midrise is necessary too, and high rise where it is justified. Nearby in Bankers Hill and Hillcrest, we are getting high rises. Maybe midrise denseity shouldn't be the max in Golden Hill.
000
Fumo_And_Transit_San_Diego @fumoandtransitsd.bsky.social · 19/09/2025
My thought is, what is incremental denseity in a city. It's taller. If you are close to a downtown area, the zoning should allow simular. Especially with our housing and property prices, it's the only way to zone in my opinion.
