Tracking Satb2-positive retinal ganglion cells in zebrafish unveils developmental functional reorganization
Retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) relay visual information to the brain, and their functional properties are crucial for visually guided behavior. However…

Happy to share our new paper published in @currentbiology.bsky.social! Using in vivo imaging of genetically defined zebrafish retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), we show that while some Satb2+ RGCs maintain stable functional identities during development, others undergo functional changes.

Happy to share our new paper published in Nature Communications! www.nature.com/articles/s41... We developed CaMPARI-seq to link neural activity with molecular profiles and revealed how the brain distinguishes optic flow to guide behavior. Congratulations to our postdoc Koji Matsuda!

Molecular and functional dissection using CaMPARI-seq reveals the neuronal organization for dissociating optic flow-dependent behaviors
Nature Communications - In this study, the authors develop CaMPARI-seq to link neural activity with molecular profiles in larval zebrafish. They identify inhibitory pretectal neurons required for...

Found them: the brain's specific "go" neurons for swimming. @fumikubo.bsky.social team discovers the inhibitory pretextal cells essential for optomotor response, dissociating it from eye movements. A stunning map from function to molecular identity. Thrilled to highlight this work! 🐟

Preprint Alert! How does the brain distinguish different types of optic flow? We combined CaMPARI2 labeling with single-cell RNA-seq (CaMPARI-seq) to dissect visual circuits in zebrafish. Read the full study here 👉 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Molecular and functional dissection using CaMPARI-seq reveals the neuronal organization for dissociating optic flow-dependent behaviors
Optic flow processing is critical for the visual control of body and eye movements in many animals. Rotational and translational binocular optic flow patterns need to be clearly distinguished to induc...
