Frankly, the thing with shorts is also 100% me. I know my legs aren't pretty, so I interiorized that shorts is the last thing I should wear.

It does compare! I didn't start wearing miniskirts until my 30s, & same with hats (which I love, but also felt were judged besides my own looks). But I realizez ok, maybe 1% is judging. And so what if it was more? Fuck Them.

Thank you all. I'm overwhelmed by your response bc, well, obviously I don't look like this irl, but beyond that: it is incredibly hard for me to expose myself in shorts and colors. I feel like everybody is looking at me and laughing. These are the very first shorts I've owned after age 9.

You can. It's just clothes. I got these shorts just this week. I've never worn anything like it, it's my first pair of shorts EVER as an adult and I feel I look lik like a clown, but I'm practicing what I preach: it's just clothes. It's in my mind that I can't wear this. It's in your mind, too.

This is where I disagree, it isn't easy unless you are attractive and outgoing when traveling solo. But even for the likes of me, rarely getting to exchanging a word with others: it's alright to be alone! You can pay attention to things differently.

Yep, that's exactly right. I have clicked because this friend is a enthusiast and always tells me how much she loves it, but, damn. No way. Not for me even if I had the extra cash just begging to be burned.

It's super basic stuff. They are indeed sharing rooms. Flights and insurance not included. I know several women who do this and, wow. Some people really will pay anything to not have to spend a minute alone.

"There are curated activities and they take you places" ladies you could literally hire a local guide to drive you around everywhere each one of those 9 days and you'd still be paying less!

Not weeks, it's just days away! It's coming out Saturday. I've had an eye on this Kilat release for a while.

Well, no offal goes into good quality sausage, saying this as someone who grew up making them yearly. I can't do menudo, callos, or anything in that vein.

Bovine *stomach* rather than belly is also common in certain beloved dishes in my culture. I don't eat any offal though so that's also a clear no for me.

Mixed results with vinegar. I can tolerate the stench better than I did, I can use it more in cooking and in minuscule amounts in raw sauces, but I accidentally put a s&v chip in my mouth at a friends' house and literally had to run to the bathroom to spit it out and wash my mouth.

The pork belly thing is tragic because SO many tasting menus will have a pork belly dish these days, and I simply can't eat it. The chicharrón route is the least offensive, but I still have to spit out the bits of fat even in the most lean cuts that I've been training myself on.

In my ongoing efforts to tolerate some foods better, the least progress I'm seeing is with pork belly and the most progress is with cinnamon in sweet preparations. If it's mixed with lemon, I am beginning to even enjoy it. Case in point: this "nata latte", inspired by Philly's Gilda. #FoodRamblings

It is a signature coffee in Café Gilda in Philly and it features a cinnamon & lemon zest syrup as a sweetener, which are the classic flavors of "pasteis de nata" pastries - which I disliked greatly when I first visited Portugal because of the cinnamon, but was able to tolerate on my second visit. My latte has oat milk at the bottom, a generous tbsp of homemade cinnamon & lemon zest syrup, and a double shot of espresso.

If you're in Fishtown, I recommend a visit to this café.
