Gotta love Carrot Weather for its timely mission “Find Lake Ontario”. Yup, that’s exactly what it’s called and it’s absolutely not normal that this is even a thing now.

Neil Fraser's business card, assumed to be held by himself. On it only his Name, profession engineer), country of residence, email address and website URL

When an article hits like a truck. Not my current reality specifically, but rather the reality that seems to shape the working world around me. nooneshappy.com/article/appe...
Screenshot of the start of the linked article "Appearing Productive in The Workplace".

Quote: "Parkinson’s Law states that work expands to fill the time available. In the era of AI, workers now have a tool that expands to fill whatever a large language model can be persuaded to generate, which is to say, without limit."

I wholeheartedly share this view with @anildash.com — although on platforms like LinkedIn it definitely can feel otherwise. www.anildash.com/2025/10/17/t... My biggest issue with the pervasive AI propaganda is the assertion of the inevitability of a AGI w/o provable evidence.
Screenshot of a key point of the article: "Technologies like LLMs have utility, but *the absurd way they've been over-hyped, the fact they're being forced on everyone, and the insistence on ignoring the many valid critiques about them make it very difficult to focus on legitimate uses where they might add value.*"

The part from the asterisk is highlighted by me.
