Just had a nice visit from a neighbor! We have a local female in our area and this is possibly last year's, but I'm thinking two yrs ago calf. I know the dangers and blah blah, but urban wildlife is urban wildlife. We still working on the co existing thing. But it's always best to give them space!

I'm in Anchorage AK now. Mountains that came to be in the last ice age. And we have Fata Morgana a lot. These Mountains are only visible when weather conditions reflect the usually unseen AK range into a mirage. No interesting little critters, which i do miss.

This is a Fata Morgana. What looks like mountains in the distance ARE mountains in the distance, but are normally not visible. It's the AK Range as seen from Anchorage, reflected above the horizon in a temperature inversion. Tomorrow, if'n the weather warms up, they will be gone. Magic 🙌

It still might be. You took an excellent picture. I'm from East Tennessee, so i can tell brown recluse, black widow and wolf spiders. Most Everything else is just 'spider.' This falls under 'spider.'
