Bricks are of course the most basic and simple texture to make, but sometimes, the original reference isn't even a brick. Here are three images showing the progression from original photo, to edited photo, to the final low-resolution and altered version ready to be used in the game.

Other textures are made from scratch. Personally I think my photo-referenced textures look the best. Perhaps an indication of the quality of my limited artistic abilities :)
