No. Publicly accessible is not, by no means, the same as public domain. Reading software coding advice on Stack Overflow is very much okay, using said intellectual creation to train an engine and then charge people to use it is stealing. And that’s one single aspect of their criminal activity.

FWIW, their usual means is standard operating procedure among big techs. That’s the really interesting part in this: they changing tactics means that they actually foresee 💩 hitting the fan and hurting the company in ways that will be hard to explain to shareholders.

Because stealing code from a registered dev is quite different from stealing scraped data off the internet. They do have the ability to steal it, it’s sitting there. However, it poses a kind of liability we call “legal risk”.

Brushless tools are, in themselves, worth the upgrade most times. 😁 I like that the Bosch system has smaller battery packs, they seem to integrate well to the grips. Makita’s are huge (and heavy), but now I have a bunch of 18v tools, so kinda locked into it.

Despair. They probably ran out of stolen data that’s not crap. And their broken toy still sucks, but they promised shareholders it wouldn’t suck. So they are left with buying usable data to try and fix something that, ultimately, isn’t mendable at all.
