New logo, who this?
A new logo for the Bayou Oaks Fruit Hogs oarball team. It is smoother, cleaner, and more modern than the old one. It still features the motif of a pig head emerging from a ball. The ball is an oarball; a small volleyball, in orange, gold, and maroon. The hog itself is based on a Red River Hog, with long wispy ears, except the ears are green and leaf-like. It has subdued eyes, short golden tusks, and a green wisp of hair on its cheek. Some pointed maroon stripes detail the shape of its face.

After careful deliberation, new rule changes for the 2026-27 season are final. The following changes have been made: 1. Updates to hand checking rules 2. Simplification of goal hanging and offsides 3. Addition of “barging” to clarify contact rules 4. A new type of re-start called a roll-out

The IOU rules committee is undergoing talks of rules changes for the 2027 season. On the agenda: 1. Simplifying and clarifying rules around contact and the goal crease 2. Punishing teams more for technical violations 3. Increasing pace of play without compromising the current flow

We have more bananas in our neighborhood than there are in their whole state!

What if the fruit in fruit hog was a banana?
A warthog with a banana for a body. The logo is simple and cartoonish, unlike the complex postmodern logo the team actually uses

Due to low turnout, tonight’s pickup game is CANCELLED. Reach out if you want to play with us in the future! We’re always looking for more players!

Both backs should be 5’10” or shorter- the big back would be 260, the loose back would be 200. For a half forward, height doesn’t matter but we’d want at least 230 pounds, and for a full forward, maybe 6’4” and 220? But really any body can play, and talent, effort, and teamwork are more important

Central to the IOU mission is growing grassroots community-led sport clubs all over the world. Donate if you can, share, and help Buffalo keep its teams. Perhaps in the future we can talk the club into starting an oarball department too…😉

The season is coming up and we’ve moved! Our home games and pickup games will be played at Payne Park in Sarasota this year, at least to start. We’ll always love Whitfield, but we need the lights and the seats at the new ground
