It's always easy to see the flaws in your own work. I had a number of errors, particularly towards the late game, plus several slow bosses. I messed up a couple of the specific strats I had discovered and honed that I would have loved to get into the run…but all the same…that's world record, babey.

Making burgres at home is Free. It costs Zero money to do that and it’s legal, big government can’t do anything and it’s also better than fast food because you can taste It. Don’t pay attention to YouTube tutorials just give it a go and it’ll be fine.

Fell down doing marine jets skip and also fell down in the tower, which combined easily cost me about 20-25 seconds…this time is 15 seconds off the world record.

Sloppy movement all over the place and for some reason I got stuck on what's meant to be a minor stumbling block of a boss for a full minute, but all of the big problem bosses went down first try and I'm sick, so another big PB. Could have been good enough for second, but alas. Tomorrow, maybe.

After a week of grinding and finding various new strategies, another huge PB. A lot of things went wrong in the early game and then again on the final boss, so still room to save. I still think if I get a deathless run it could very well be WR. But I need to be more consistent at finishing runs.

I've started working on speedrunning Zexion, beginning with any%. Came really close to a sub-hour run, but had about 12 minutes of just poor play at the endgame. Still, my first run was last night at 83 minutes, followed by a 70-minute run, so I'm improving.

This is the sort of thing that makes me believe international citizens should be allowed to vote in US elections. If we have to rely on your infrastructure for exports of most of western art we should be allowed to push it in a direction that doesn't cost more in postage than the thing we're buying.

Prime example: this insane idea that the game has a low skill ceiling when it's all about score attack and has had score runs featured multiple times at GDQ.

"star fox 64 is a perfect game AND It's a low skill floor, low skill ceiling, my-first-shmup score attack that has 3 hours of content max. It is not an Ocarina of Time classic, it's just a charming shooter with good voice acting. but it's competing with indies that charge less for the same content"

I've returned to Blue Prince after however many months it was in the hope that it would bug me less; the answer is Yes, though just barely, but on the plus side, it did get me to finally vocalise a bit the thing that I've been ruminating on for a long time re: mansions.

"I keep turning over in my head the idea of writing a piece about mansions. I think they might genuinely be the ultimate mundane fantasy setting, particularly in videogames"
"basically, it's the most realistic type of setting you can put into a game — mansions exist in the reality we live in, after all — that still is essentially a fantastical impossibility. It's fine, a lot of the same things to like as with Hollow Knight, and all of the same flaws. Act 1 is the best part, virtually flawless in its pacing, then immediately after the first boss of Act 2 drops off sharply with still some peaks, and then most of Act 3 is just uninteresting.

We don't really use corn syrup here because we don't suck, and the condensed milk slow cooker method is for dulce de leches, when I wanted more of a toffee outcome, for coating.
