bsky.app/profile/carl... So sinister. So stupid. Another whacko unworkable action to shake up disliked people and institutions to foster chaos. The decision will hopefully be dialed back (likely intended) but not to the status quo; nonetheless fundamentally changing the affected institutions.

3/3 Multiple aquariums are now breeding sea stars, and it seems possible to cryobank reproductive cells and even larvae that can assure the long-term preservation of these fascinating animals that contribute to the resilience of highly productive kelp forest communities.
